Dirty Republican Tricks Even in a Disaster Area!!!
Edited on Mon Sep-27-04 09:21 PM by deminflorida
Some of you read my post about Ivan causing Bush to lose Florida....
Some of you disagree with the situation here concerning Bush and Hurricanes...

But the fact remains that for this county, which is a heavy Republican strong-hold the response was slow after the storm at best.

Note the following statements after the storm from the NorthWest Florida Daily News....

"Jeb Bush Defends FEMA effort....."

"PUTTING BACK THE PIECES
GULF BREEZE — Gov. Jeb Bush brushed aside suggestions Monday that the Federal Emergency Management Agency did not act quickly enough to provide aid to Hurricane Ivan victims in Santa Rosa County. "It’s impossible for people to expect a FEMA distribution center to be set up when the storm is going on," he said.

They know that there are not alot of happy campers in this county especially out on Santa Rosa Island and Navarre Beach. Word is they don't intend to open the bridge to travel by moter vehicle until AFTER the election.....

note the following post from the Pensacola News Journal community board....

"Could someone confirm that there were Gulf Power trucks on Navarre Beach today? Does that mean that water and sewer are not far behind?
And does anyone know when they are going to start removing the sand from the roads? Thanks for all of these wonderful postings. It's the only way that we know anything about what is going on there at all.
We just bought in February. It's our retirement home and it made it through fine but we have renters that have children and have to scrounge for housing. The hardest part is that, as far as I can tell, the officials aren't letting us in on a timeframe, except for the bridge opening.

****And as far as I can tell, they haven't indicated why its going to take until November 3rd.****"

I'll tell you why, because people may not vote the way the Republican Officials here want them to. That's why....

Let me add a better translation of this....Screw Them if they are not happy, leave them on the island until after the election.
