Update on Oregon Republican's assault on anti-Bush protestor

GEORGE W. MADE ME DO IT!
City Attorney Ignores Charges Against Bush Supporter

by Phil Busse

It's a chilling photograph, one taken at an anti-Bush protest a month ago and published in the Portland Tribune. A spitting mad Bush supporter appears to be stiff-arming a protester in the face. The protester is arching backwards, attempting to pull her attacker's hand away.

Yet, in spite of the photograph and statements from no fewer than six witnesses, the Beaverton City Attorney has decided not to prosecute the Bush supporter.

"This woman physically assaults me," claims Kendra Lloyd-Knox, "and she's gotten away with it."

The incident occurred on the Friday when both President George W. Bush and presidential hopeful John Kerry dropped simultaneously into town. While Kerry held court) near the Hawthorne Bridge, Bush appeared at a private luncheon in Beaverton at Southridge High School, where several dozen protesters were lining the sidewalks.

1. She doesn't need a physical injury- psychological pain is enough
she's got photographic proof she was physically assaulted.
I'd have done a half-gainer myself to play it up, but this woman was definitely assaulted.
The prosecutor is full of shit.

10. And here we've been told that the GOP desire to hinder trial lawyers...
...was due to "frivolous" lawsuits that prove costly.

The Neo-cons must be anticipating many, many lawsuits in response to their behavior in public.

Nothing "frivolous" about assault and battery...

President George Bush and Sen. John Kerry look ready to go to war over Oregon this year.
The presidential contenders brought their A game to the state last week. Both generated tremendous excitement among supporters, both pulled all the political levers they could, and both saw how far the other will go in trying to win Oregon in the 11 weeks remaining in the campaign.
President Bush brought the promise of jobs in the $15 million he pledged for deepening the Columbia River channel, a signal that he’s willing to spread around some federal money, especially when it spurs private investment, a classic tactic available only to the incumbent.
Kerry, meanwhile, attracted 50,000 people to the Portland waterfront in what may well have been the largest political rally ever in Oregon. The crowd’s size and enthusiasm signaled an unusually deep commitment for a Democratic Party that’s often divided.
Both candidates are concentrating on states expected to be close. That means Oregon, narrowly won by the Democrats in 2000, should expect both of them back, a rare level of attention for a state that offers a paltry seven electoral votes. President Bush has been here four times since taking office and Kerry three since May.

The only way to make that woman understand free speech is to expose her for the piece of shit she is.

We should email/call the DA's office also.

Email: cityattymail@ci.beaverton.or.us
City Attorney: Alan Rappleyea
Phone: (503) 526-2215
Fax: (503) 526-2479

I wonder if this Alan Rappleyea is any relation to the Alan Rappleyea in NY who gave $2000 to the RNC. It's an odd name.
