Is there more to be shown of Rather's interview with the secretary?
Was that just a bit of an overall interview--more of his conversation with her to be televised?

It would seem that Rather is getting some good satisfaction out of making the White House squirm and twist and contort on this, so I can't imagine that he showed ALL he was going to show just last night.

Did he say one way or the other if there was more to come of his interview with her?

1. It did feel a bit edited and condensed, didn't it?
I hope there is more to come.

2. One has to wonder...
if this isn't being strung out to its exquisite length as a ratings boost by CBS. They don't seem all that anxious to put an end to the speculation.

3. "The Source" question is tantalizing.
A subject matter expert on NPR this afternoon said that CBS's agreement with "the source" may have included a clause that says if the information turned out to be in error or false, CBS would not be held to its confidentiality agreement with them. Such clauses are standard in such agreements.

4. I hope so
The interview was excellent, but they really didn't need to fly her from Houston to NYC for that. They could've had them speaking (Knox and Rather, I mean) via satellite, but they chose to have them face to face. I have the feeling there is a lot more to the entire interview than we've been shown. Rather must be going to distribute the strongest points of their talk bit by bit over a period of time. Until the debates? Until the election? I don't know. Perhaps until * answers Rather's questions. Yeah, as if that'll happen.

5. Good point.

Why fly her in unless there is more to the story? Are there more documents that he wants for her to identify and authenticate in person? I don't think Rather has tipped his hand. Welcome to DU :hi:

edit: spelling-ugh!

6. Thanks!
Been lurking forever and finally decided to jump in. Glad to be here!

I like your idea about there perhaps being more documents for Mrs. Knox to look at in person in NYC. Since CBS has been investigating this for years, they must have bits and pieces of info that Mrs. Knox may be able to connect or expound on for them. NG terms, acronyms, oblique references, etc. might be easy for Mrs. Knox to identify whereas maybe they've stumped CBS. She could also be a terrific source of contacts. She would know who was where in those years and point CBS in the right direction to follow-up with those folks. Who knows? I just get a strong feeling that what we saw on TV isn't all there is.
