17. They could do it in a year.
The 21st amendment, repealing prohibition, was passed and enacted in a year.

The Republicans have been very good at whipping up a furor over an issue and then muddying the waters long enough to get what they want. I could easily see them getting away with this. CNN is reporting, with a straight face, that it's bipartisan because of Tom Lantos? If they'll do that then there is no issue over which they couldn't easily be manipulated.

It's a sign, I think, of how little confidence the Republicans have in their bench strength and their ideas that they are this desperate. If they had a dynamic plan for the future they wouldn't be sniffing at an empty suit like Arnold.

6. Wouldn't that take an ammendment?
I know Hatch has put out a proposal to change the rules about a president being a natural citizen but I don't think anything has come of it. It's a bad idea IMO.

9. I hope Hatch is successful in changing presidential citizenship
requirements because Gov. Granholm of Michigan will become the first female president of the U.S. I think she is only 45 years old. Go Orin

Traded with the Nazis until 1942 or maybe even later. The US gov shut his bank down for trading with the enemy.

But the bushies and the Nazis have long memories. What sweeter revenge would it be than to have an illegal alien (Arnie-visa problems) who had a Nazi father become POTUS some 65 years after the war ended? All of this facilitated by Herr Roverer?

I'll bet Arnie has an entire shadow government sitting down in Argentina waiting to take up residence in the Congress.

25. Immigrants who've been legal citizens for 20yrs should be allowed
If the pipe dream of an Arnold presidency gets the Repubs to get on board, so be it. We live in a very different world from 19th century, more global, more 'cross-pollination'. Arnold would never get through the Republican primaries anyway; the wingers down in reactionary states would never vote for a 'gay loving, gun confiscating foreigner' no matter how Republican he is on defense and fiscal matters.

It's more likely that Granholm would be elected the first female president because of this effort.

And I can see future situations where a non native born citizen from either party may be the best, most qualified candidate only to be disqualified because of an archaic law.
