Key GOP Senators Endorse Fiorina
Eight influential Republican senators jumped on board former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina's California Senate campaign Thursday, a day after she officially launched her bid.

Those endorsing Fiorina included Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.; Assistant Minority Leader Jon Kyl, R-Ariz.; 2008 presidential nominee John McCain, R-Calif.; Tom Coburn, R-Okla.; Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.; Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska; and Maine Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia J. Snowe. All cited her experience as a business leader.

In his statement, McCain praised Fiorina's service as an adviser during his presidential bid. "I benefited from her no-nonsense way of getting things done when she served on my campaign last year," he said.

Collins, Snowe and Murkowski represent three of the four Republican women in the Senate. The fourth is Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas, who is considering resigning to run for governor next year.

1. Interesting. They are trying to offer tea-bag insurance.
The baggers want to target her. We will see if this works to keep them off.

2. Hilarious McCain quote
He locked her in the basement when she said McCain wasn't qualified to run a public company.

3. Yeah, but have any of the really IMPORTANT GOPpies endorsed her?
Palin?
Limbaugh?
Bachman?

You know, the people who RUN the Party. The people who are the ideological soul of the Party. The people who will kick any GOPpie who isn't looney as they are to the curb.

Have any of THEM endorsed her yet?

No?

I'd worry, if I were you, Carly. Quick, get your picture taken with a sign that has a picture of a blastocyst with a heart around it. Or make some vicious homophobic remarks. Or go on a photo-op shooting penned, helpless small creatures with a really big gun.

Hurry, hurry! Time's a wastin' if you want those important endorsements!

encouragingly,
Bright

5. I wonder how much in campaign contributions these guys were promised
in return for their endorsements. I mean McConnell, Coburn and so of those others are a given. I think they had to buy off Collins and Snowe with some kind of promomise.

11. After her failures as CEO I thought she had hit bottom
but watching her quickly ended political outings during the last election, I learned that she is even worse at politics than at business. She will be a terrible candidate. She will shoot herself in the foot during the first furlong. She is not good with words and her face telegraphs her inner thoughts, which do not match her words. She is a lousy politician.

14. She was canned from H-P.
She engineered the split off of Western Electric from AT&T forming Lucent Technologies. You know what has happened to Lucent. It went from employing over 40,000 high paying jobs to a hand full of jobs. What is left of it is now owned by Alcatel a French company. She was a secretary until she shacked up with Fiorina, an AT&T executive and was put in the executive trainee program.

16. Isn't there a viable multi-billion dollar corporation somewhere that needs destroying?
Maybe she could seek employment at Walmart and work her magic for them.

17. Weren't most of those folks labeled RINOs by the freepers?
Carly would do well to disavow those endorsements and hold out for Sarah and Rush's seal of approval!
