Still think they're liberal-biased?

:-(

Kerry's got to change his tactics, I do believe people feel sorry for *. Which is a pity...

2. this doesn't reflect this weeks'
bad Iraq news... Let Bush & Co keep thinking they are surging...I still believe Kerry will do it...these polls can just stir up the anger more and get more people to vote while the repubs can just sit on their butts all comfy and cocky...

11. No. It was announced on the TV. No link is possible.
www.cbsnews.com is their website but that isn't saying anything.

4. STOP paying attention to the polls...
when they show a poll of young people in the 18-25 age bracket with no land line attached to their name and Bush is still ahead, then maybe I'll believe them...

Trust your grassroots otherwise there won't be anything left of you in November.

8. I get polled on my cell
Virgin Mobile it is the best! I did Rassmussen (? spelling) they said they dial numbers randomly, so cell phone numbers are included. I don't know if everyone does that.

Maybe that is why Rassmussen is one of the better polls?

14. Today on CNN, the "expert" said few people are polled
on their cell phones and that could make a difference.

15. The best advice yet posted
We go beserk with every twitch of every poll. To hell with them. My gut instinct has been pretty good in its ability to tell when we're going to win and when we're going to get licked, and my gut keeps telling me that Kerry is winning this election.

5. I don't believe any poll this year
Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 05:45 PM by xray s
After reading about how the pollsters manipulate the samples, leave segments out of the sample, miss cell phones etc etc I am convinced the polls are totally meaningless.

The poll Nov 2 is all we have to worry about.

9. Kerry already has changed his tactics. More aggressive, sharper
language. I think it is starting to work

ABC just did a story on Kerry's new tact in campaign. It showed him saying pre-RNC that he was running a positive campaign about a vision for America. Then they said, it still has a vision but now it is much more aggressive and negative in attacking * and Darth Vader.

They showed a clip of Kerry accusing * of hiding a big call up of troops in November. They showed a clip of the new ad attacking Cheney and Halliburton (showed all the good parts).

It was a good piece and showed how he is in Chimpy's face now.

Don't get discouraged. I think the big MO is shifting back to Kerry.

Remember the polls in 2002 elections. A number of races where Dems had leads in the polls going into the election lost their races, Max Cleland being the most notable example.

Black Box voting.

13. Why not?
I was thinking today that if you watched television your impression would be this: Bush is being attacked so unfairly. First Kerry PRETENDS to be this hot-shot vet, then he - and Dan Rather - fake all these documents saying that poor Dubya isn't all we thought he was during the war, and now we find out that Kerry's evil supporters are ripping Bush/Cheney signs from the hands of sobbing toddlers. :eyes:

20. Landslide? No way.
I'm all for being confident, but this is going to be a squeaker. The country is too evenly split for it to be anything but unless we can somehow convince the pugs not to show up on election day.

Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 06:16 PM by troublemaker
it's another 9/11 poll. "Thursday through Sunday" (9/9-9/12)

Until a poll is beyond 9/12 it's meaningless, IMO. The internals I've seen from 9/11 polls show big Bush bias on 9/11 and 9/12

I'm so, so tired of these armchair Carvilles who think they know what a campaign needs to do.

Seriously, what do you know about running a national campaign?

Kerry is losing with women.

Kerry's behind in independents by 8%

Kerry leads union people only by 12%

20% of liberals are voting for bush

31. I keep saying it again and again.....this election depends on only 1 thing
Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 08:30 PM by shivaji
and that is POCKETBOOK issues. Every other election before
has been decided how people felt about their pocketbook
issues 2-4 months before the election. All other issues
pale in comparison.

If Kerry is going to win this election, he must explain
in detail how he is going to create more and higher paying
jobs, how exactly he is going to reduce outsourcing of jobs,
how exactly he is going to pay for the 45 million uninsured
for healthcare, how he is going to save social security which
is destined to go broke in 15 years under current rules, etc.

It is not enough to say he will create more jobs, or he will
save social security. He needs to go into specific detail
and layout detailed proposals so people will vote for him.
Otherwise they will dismiss it all as political rhetoric and
re-elect * because he is the devil they know. I believe this
is why his poll numbers are lagging.

The SBVT's claims against Kerry, CBS memos against *'s
national guard service in early 70's, even Iraq is not
going to make or break this election.

32. Polls
Screw all polls -- they really make the American people look like a bunch dumbnuts. Almost everyday there are new polls, according to the count almost every voting American should have been polled by now.

The important polls are election day.... that is it!

34. Read to the third page. CBS polled more republicans than democrats

This was the flaw in the Gallup poll also. Even though more people voted Democratic than Republican in the last election, the random sample came up with more Republicans than Democrats.

this is what CBS says:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/09/17/opinion/main644208.shtml
In this poll, where the Republicans hold a significant lead in voter preference and more voters hold negative views about Democratic nominee John Kerry, when voters are asked about their partisan identification at the end of the questionnaire, more identify themselves as Republicans. 36 percent say they are Republican, 32 percent Democrats. The percentage that identifies themselves as Democrats in this poll is lower than it has been in CBS News Polls conducted earlier in the year.
