Lieberman answers my email RE: his filibuster. I don't talk to people from other states.
Thank you for taking the time to contact me. I appreciate the opportunity to know your opinions on the pressing issues facing our nation. Regrettably, due to the huge volume of mail that I receive, I am only able to research and address comments sent to me from Connecticut residents. If you are not from Connecticut, you may want to consider sending a message to the Senators from your state of residence. You can do so by visiting http://www.senate.gov for a link to the websites of each member of the United States Senate. The websites for each member of the United States House of Representatives can be accessed at http://www.house.gov. These sites also list the standard postal mailing address for each Senator and Representative. If you are currently residing out of state, but are still a Connecticut resident or have a connection to Connecticut, please be certain to use your Connecticut address or indicate your Connecticut connection in future communications.

I value having the benefit of your thoughtful concerns, since I do receive detailed weekly reports from my staff providing a sampling of comments from across the country on timely issues before Congress.

Thank you again for sharing your views and concerns with me. I hope you will continue to visit my website at http://lieberman.senate.gov for updated news about my work on behalf of Connecticut and the nation. Please contact me if you have any additional questions or comments about our work in Congress.

Sincerely,

Joseph I. Lieberman

UNITED STATES SENATOR

4. Well, on this, I sort of don't blame him
I interned for a Democratic congressman 12 years ago, and answered a lot of calls. If we were called by a non-constituent, we were told by the staff to cut the conversation short and direct them to their own senator or congressman.

I particularly remember one caller from another district saying that while he lived in that district he refused to consider his congressman as his own congressman ("Oh, he's not 'my' congressman. He'll never be 'my" congressman."). Just because he didn't like him. Instead, he said that he "adopted" the congressman I was interning for as "his" congressman. Weirdo.

15. You'll get a canned letter, in
a supercilious tone, basically oh so kindly explaining to you why he, Lord Lieberman, is correct and you are sadly mistaken.

The comparison between the responses I get from Dodd's office and Lieberman's is quite instructive!

19. I fixed that long ago
If you are out of state they won't accept the email...sooooo If they are a representative, look up the district. Get the zip code fill out the info and put down that city and zip code and send it...accept it every time..Makes no difference for a senator just get the right zip code and any city in the state...Have sent many emails that way and they mostly all answer and try to weasel out of stuff.

then they put you on the mail list. Well that kinda good because you then find out what the buttholes are up to. You should read some of boehner's stuff.

20. But he has no problems making decisions for other states
Senators or Congressmen who hold the key to critical NATIONAL bills don't have the right to refuse comment from other states.
