I don't know how many of you know that tragically, Joe Lieberman lost control of his eponymous political party in a coup.

Paid for by Connecticut for Lieberman

The Connecticut for Lieberman Party (CFL) rejects the fraud perpetrated on the members of this party and the citizens of Connecticut by Joe Lieberman when he used the creation of this party to get on the general election ballot in 2006. The CFL is an independent, anti-war, anti-corruption, pro-fiscal responsibility, pro-democracy party, that stands for individual liberties and real problem-solving in government. The CFL wants everyone to know that in the United States of America, voters are free to join any party they wish, and participate in the democratic process according to the laws of Connecticut and the United States.

2. Really? This isn't the Onion?
Sounds, to me, like yet another Republican attempt to split the Democratic vote--just like their former support of Nader.

Lieberman is shamefully bad, and I want him out of politics forever, but I hate to see the Democratic vote split. I suspect that most CT Republicans will vote for Lieberman, again, regardless of his alleged party identity.

4. Mertens would be facing off against Dodd, not Lieberman
Not that the Connecticut for Leiberman Party won't mount a candidate against . . . Lieberman, in the Future.

If Joe wants to run again he will need to start up the Lieberman for Connecticut Party, or if he were really candid, the Lieberman for Lieberman Party. Hopefully, he can stay coup free in the future.
