Sink gives her blessing to Meek
TALLAHASSEE -- Democratic gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink has endorsed Kendrick Meek for the U.S. Senate, a move meant to close ranks among Democratic elites behind the South Florida congressman's bid to fill the vacancy created by former Sen. Mel Martinez's retirement.

"I am pleased to endorse Congressman Kendrick Meek as a candidate for U.S. Senate. During his time in the state legislature, Kendrick worked diligently to improve Florida's schools," Sink's statement reads. "As a member of Congress, Kendrick has worked on behalf of Florida’s families, making his voice heard of issues of housing and providing economic opportunities for Floridians. He has been a strong advocate for Floridians in Congress and I am confident will continue to work tirelessly for the people of Florida as their next U.S. Senator."
