Nytimes: Ins industry, under pressure from Wall Street, is raising premiums to get ahead of HCR
Higher medical costs aside, some experts say they think the insurance industry, under pressure from Wall Street, is raising premiums to get ahead of any legislative changes that might reduce their profits.

The increases come at a politically fraught time for the insurers, as they try to fight off the creation of a government-run competitor and as they push their case that they have a central role to play in controlling the nation’s health care costs.

5. Yep, just what I was thinking.
They need to make the CC's go back to January 1 rates and stay there.

2. Just like the banks with credit card rates
I say we take important segments of our economy out of Wall Street to limit the influence of shareholders to damage our country.

Oil, health care, banks, food, none of the necessities of life should ever be influenced by a constant demand to continually increase profit margins.

4. Maybe in the final legislation, congress could specify that
rates will be frozen (retroactively) at September 09 rates. That idea may not even be legal, but I thought I'd make the suggestion.

9. Never happen until they have run the country completely in the
ground. When enough people hurt and hurt badly (sa some do now)
then and then only will change come. People have to be
angry enough to take to the streets and stay there demanding
change.

Our own party has too many lawmakers who owe their soul to big
business and Wall Street, that when combined with Republicans
Wall Street, and Big Business will get their way. Our President
surrounded himself with the same types in the WH.
