Seriously, let the assbackwards, stuck in the 1850's Confederate States of Dumbfuckistan deal with the fucked up status quo if they want.

But without them in the picture to bitch about "commiesocialist medicine" then why the HELL should we have to settle for some half assed corporate welfare scam with "maybe" a public option available to 30 people in 2015?

Let the insurance criminals gouge Dumbfuckistan for their money. And the rest of us can have the same quality of health care that the rest of the civilized world does.

1. Id support opting out and still receiving federal funds in lieu of subsidies...
If the state solution met a certain standard.

That way, states would have the external funding and means to actual do single-payer and toss this shit to the curb

2. I have a question about opt out
Does the opt out provision also include an opt out of the mandate?

I cannot support a bill that forces people to buy for profit health insurance without an option for the public plan.

If your state chooses to opt out the mandate should be null in that state as well.

4. Forcing people to buy corporate insurance is just plain unacceptable in any case
It should be unconstitutional. I'm surprised nobody's made that case in Massachusetts yet, actually.

3. But , you fool, we must get the Goddess Snowe's vote. With out the nod from Her highness.
we are all doomed. Did you not get the memo, Opt-out, triggered PO, that isn't really public, nor an option, and a big fat fine (maybe even jail time) for not buying an overpriced, useless policy from a monopoly. Now THAT'S health care reform we can believe in!!! gobama. {but think how much fun the Rose Garden bill signing will be}

6. Because that probably wouldn't buy more than a couple of votes towards that end
We'd be safely in double digits but still a long way from having a core group that we could work from. We won't be within reach of single payer until you can count 30+ votes for it in the Senate without straining. Sadly, right now we aren't in position to see the horizon yet but closer than we were when this most recent effort started. I suspect we are 10-15 years away.

7. If 'Opt-Out' gets the assholes holding up the
public option to vote for it, great...

How many states do you think would opt-out?

"Hmmm, we can let people buy a government plan they can afford, or WE can pay for their emergency care... what to do, what to do..."

Only South Carolina might opt out because the governor is too busy focusing on "foreign affairs"...

8. But do you trust Thomas "DLC" Carper and Chuck "I love to blow Wall Street" Schumer
to write an "opt-out" proposal that doesn't screw those of us in the states that "opt in"?
