1. The MSM is huddling right now coming up with "Doesn't matter, the WAR is still on" talking points...
You'll hear them later today and tomorrow.

4. It's NOT NEWS because it hasn't happened. The IAEC handed out a draft and is "very optimistic"
Edited on Wed Oct-21-09 02:03 PM by denem
The UN, France, Russia and the US like it. The talks with Iran have been "very constructive". NOW it goes on to the Supreme Leader. Don't hold your breath.

5. CNN buried it on their 'world news' page....
... prefering an A1 about 'declining poll numbers for Obama'.

Anything to distract the people, huh?

Liberal media my @ss.

24. So did the BBC
if you look at the front page for UK users (it's there, but not at all prominent, without a photo). You're looking at the international front page.

6. You're not far off, but...
they agreed in principle to craft a deal. The actual deal isn't done yet.

That being said, the agreement to craft a deal is pretty earthshattering info that should have received more press.

7. And Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said ...
Edited on Wed Oct-21-09 02:08 PM by denem
Oh that's right, he has agreed
... that Ahmadinejad won the election.

It's not worth the parchment it's written on
until the Supreme Leader signs off on the whole thing.

15. Stall and Delay etc. ad infinitum
Obama and Clinton can try their 3d chess all they want. There will be no solution to the Iranian problem or the Palestinian problem in the near future,if ever.None of the factions in the Middle East ,including the Israelis, will ever agree to a deal unless the deal makes them smile. They mostly think in zero sum terms.Chess was invented in Persia.Unfortunately the best chance for peace in the area is after a decisive war.

8. Is the US the lead player on this?
Edited on Wed Oct-21-09 02:16 PM by karynnj
I think this is something that Europe has been working on since at least 2004. The fact that the US is now helping is great, but I need to hear more to think that this is mostly Obama's doing - though it might mean the people who wanted to responded more violently. From what is written, maybe the AIEA should be conssidered.

12. Truly fascinating that the MSM defends Foxs News as credible but finds REAL news like this a waste
Crazy and a not surprising they are obsessing over defending an etertainment channel as real news and completely avoiding the real news out there. Yes Iran agreeing to a nuc deal is a big deal. But at the same time you do see a pattern in what the US news considers what should be made known to the public. Like someone here said..the msm isnt about reporting news, its about making it.

13. Big news on Iran--- but, M$M twirls a shiny bauble of the arrest of a wannabe jihadist in Boston.
Big news about Iran today, and where are our **M$M**??

Oh, look, look, look OVER HERE! Shiny bauble!!

This sounds like a combination of the Padilla case and the Miami Seven. Are Ashcroft and Mukasey still on the payroll?

Terror suspect arrested in Boston

October 21, 2009

(Because I trust the BBC over anything ABC says)

.....

Tarek Mehanna, 27, was held in Sudbury, a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts, and charged with conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists.

He is also accused of plotting to kill two US politicians and people overseas, and of seeking terrorist training.

.....

One was named as Ahmad Abousamra, who the authorities say is now in Syria.

Mr Mehanna, who is reported to be a US citizen, was arrested at his home on Wednesday morning.

.....

They allegedly discussed "the logistics of a mall attack, including co-ordination, weapons needed and the possibility of attacking emergency responders", acting US Attorney Michael Loucks said.

However, the plan was eventually abandoned, prosecutors said, because the conspirators could not get hold of the necessary weapons.

The charge alleges that from about 2001 to May 2008, Mr Mehanna conspired with others, plotting to provide material support and resources for use in carrying out a conspiracy to kill, kidnap, maim or injure persons or damage property in a foreign country and the killing of US nationals outside the US.

.....

"They discussed their desire to participate in violent jihad against American interests and that they would talk about fighting jihad and their desire to die on the battlefield," he said.

They allegedly attempted to inspire each other and radicalise others by watching and distributing jihadi videos.

Mr Mehanna and two of his associates also allegedly travelled to the Middle East in February 2004 hoping to attend a terrorist training camp, with the aim of fighting US and allied forces in Iraq, but did not succeed in finding one to join.

.....

Hey, M$M? There is some major news in the world today.

Why don't you report on this breaking news for a change.

History is happening, you pumped-up, blow-dried mannequins. I swear, the indolent and bloated dolts in the M$M are just idly collecting their pay from their corporate masters. Useless cocktail-slurping, corporate teat-sucking creeps.

on their "latest news" column. The article isn't as prominent as on BBC but it is there.

but I could be wrong. They would be really stupid NOT to give it some airtime.

20. CNN and FOX would rather raise a terror alert to yellow or higher.
It's a ratings game and war is not an obstacle for them. But this may be too big to keep hidden.
