COORDINATED WITH CLELAND ... !
After all, that's the tagline at Sludge so it MUST be the TRUTH. Shit-for-brains yellow journalist gimp-boy then links to the WP story that includes only this single wholly innocuous reference to Max --

Cleland confirmed that he had a two- or three-minute conversation by cell phone with a Texan named Burkett in mid-August while he was on a car ride. He remembers Burkett saying that he had "valuable" information about Bush, and asking what he should with it. "I told him to contact the campaign," Cleland said. "You get this information tens of times a day, and you don't know if it is legit or not."

Now, we know this is hardly "coordination" and I know...what should we expect. But still. Fuckin-A! Why do i subject myself to such frustrations?

Edited on Sat Sep-18-04 05:41 PM by Gloria
shuts this down??? The campaign never called him back...so when do we get the whole story out in about 3 sentences debunking this...and then going on the attack???

I'm starting to count now....

You just KNOW this will dominate all the Sunday shows, and then this will go on into next week!!!! Less that 2 weeks until the first debate...

NICE GOING!!

3. What can we do to stop Sludge. Um, make him irrelevant by ignoring
him and not bringing his freeper crap here? Just a thought.

4. we need to get some dirt on him
and discredit him so that people quit reading his site.

I am guilty of going there once in a while myself--people will mention a story and I can't help going over to read it. But we totally need to avoid it and not give him the hits.

We also need to try to discredit him somehow...

6. I dunno, freepers are always sending me crap from Sludge and I
immediately discredit it as crap and they walk away with tucked tail. Hmmmm, come to think of it, I am prepared because of DU. Perhaps we should have "single point" contacts to coordinate our rebuttals to these freeper sites - oh, is that too freeper talking point like?? The lazy press seems to like their approach - if we did it, they would soon see how stupid and lazy they've become and perhaps report some news they actually discovered using actual real-life reporters.

8. Whatdya have against talking points?
Other than, Dems don't know how to use them. Or act like they're
"above" such tactics of skillful media manipulation. Instead folks believe that righteous indignation with the media will somehow win the day.

I'm sure there's a Rather-ism for this. Ever changing "memes" that never catch on are no match for behind the scenes coordination. Really, Dems sometimes act like Charlie Brown trying to kick the ball out of Lucy's hands when it comes to media messaging.

12. I've been promoting talking points - in fact I'm tongue-in-cheek
when I criticize them because I know that Dems are famously unwilling to coordinate in the way it takes to win an election these days. Unfortunately the sleazy valueless immoral Repukes turned a knife fight into a gun fight - and I am buying a gun, wish more would understand this logic.

7. Oh, he's much worse than irrelevant in my view.
He's fucking demonic. But we know how all the chimp-in-chief apologists flock to his cesspool for their daily spin and chirping points. Sick it is!

10. Since when. . .
does calling someone count as "coordinating"??

These people are grasping. We have 1000+ soldiers killed in Iraq, an economy that has been underperforming for 3 years, and a majority of the world against us. And this is the best they have??
