"Obama and ACORN" ~ guilt by association begins!
AMERICAN THINKER

~ SNIP ~

Barack Obama gave five interviews last Sunday, and only one interviewer bothered to ask him about the ACORN scandal. ACORN is the leftist activist organization that lost its federal funds last week in a Congressional vote that was not even close. Obama's answer to his lone ACORN question was amazing. He brazened it out: "Frankly," said the President, "it's not something I've followed closely. This is not the biggest issue facing the country. It's not something I'm paying a lot of attention to."

Not something he's paying a lot of attention to. This is the same Barack Obama who said, in an address to ACORN in 2007, "I have been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career."

One of Barack Obama's jobs out of college was with ACORN as a community organizer. Obama hired ACORN affiliates for voter registration. Obama was a speaker at ACORN seminars. Obama was their lawyer.

And now he says that the enormous and growing ACORN scandal is not something he is "paying a lot of attention to"? And that the ACORN scandal is "not the biggest issue facing the country"? I beg to differ. I think a national organization that is dedicated to stealth revolution, Communism, ripping off the American taxpayer, and subverting free markets, among other insidious objectives, is of enormous import.

:eyes:

This is an example of why we must fight back vs. allow the R/W to frame the ACORN debate.

Expect to see more where this came from...

1. Naturally, fighting back is only relevant to those who are on our side.

2. What they're trying to do is connect Obama and ACORN voter fraud

So they can then say Obama was never legally elected. Which is why NOBODY should be helping them.

3. Actually, I read somewhere that President never worked for ACORN....

• Fact: Barack was never an ACORN community organizer.
• Fact: ACORN never hired Obama as a trainer, organizer, or any type of employee.
• Fact: ACORN was not part of Project Vote, the successful voter registration drive Barack ran in 1992.

In his capacity as an attorney, Barack represented ACORN in a successful lawsuit alongside the U.S. Department of Justice against the state of Illinois to force state compliance with a federal voting access law. For his work helping enforce the law, called “Motor Voter,” Barack received the IVI-IPO Legal Eagle Award in 1995. (For more about Barack’s career, check out our Obama bio.)

Ken Blackwell is best known today for disenfranchising Democratic voters in his dual role as Ohio Secretary of State and chair of George Bush’s Ohio campaign in 2004. To see him shed crocodile tears for the integrity of the vote while making accusations about Barack and ACORN with absolutely no basis in fact is disturbing.

Blackwell’s attacks against ACORN and community organizers continue a vile Republican pattern of mockery and viciousness against this noble profession. Community organizers are the very individuals Republicans should be celebrating for helping people to help themselves rather than depending on the government.

In otherwords, attacking Obama for ACORN misdeeds would be ANOTHER REPUBLICAN LIE, LIKE ALL OF THE REST OF THEM.

So, what's new???

5. Good info! I think the RW casts a large net when it comes to ACORN. Any organization
ever funded or affiliated with in any way, will be smeared. :(

4. This has been the issue from the beginning. Obama+Community
Organizing and Acorn+ Community Organizing = made of the
same cloth.

During the Campaign this even came up. I believe Obama
early in his professional life assisted Acorn with a few
legal issues.

7. Begins? It continues...remember Ayers and pal-ling around with terrorists?
My husband and I had this discussion last night. ACORN was created to do good things for those less fortunate...and guess what, the powers that be ran it into corruption. Surprise Surprise! What group/association/organization hasnt? Remember 2002 and the Red Cross found to not be giving charities collected to the 911 victims? I'm certain with a little research the list could be endless... Heck, you don't even have to go there...try the insurance sector. Created to help and run into the ground...

IMHO any argument to the RW wackjobs regarding Obama's "involvement" with ACORN to the evil leaders of the world's positive attitudes of President Obama will go upon deaf ears. They hear what THEY want to hear....not the truth...

8. But at that time ACORN was not well known. Thus the desire to thrust them into
the salacious spotlight. ;)

His hate/fearmongering about Acorn and linking them to President Obama is all over YouTube.

here's one example of it from last October when he was still with CNN...
