7. SNL will have a half-hour Thursday night Weekend Update live show till mid October ...

... when 30 Rock comes back onto the Thursday night schedule.

9. The SNL show is on at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Oct. 8.

30 Rock is scheduled to come back on at 9:30 starting Oct. 15, so SNL is supposed to leave the schedule, putting the new community-college-set sitcom, "Community" (starring The Soup's hilarious Joel McHale) on at 8 p.m.

The article I read about all of this seemed to suggest there was a possibility the half-hour Weekend Update show run could be extended (but I think it would be on some other night, since the Thurs. schedule will be full).
