The Daily Dish: Bush Hatred, Obama Hatred
Bush Hatred, Obama Hatred

A reader writes:

After September 11th, Bush's approval ratings were near or above 90%. Practically the entire country was behind him - saluting and ready for duty. Yes, the Left did try to derail his plans for Iraq - but they failed. And when millions (actual millions) of Americans came out to protest that war - - it was largely ignored by the media. But when 70,000 lunatics came to DC last week to protest "Government Spending" (which, let's be honest, is a euphemism for "Barack Hussein Obama") - they got massive amounts of media coverage and hours of pundit commentary.

Every tea-party rally has been aggressively championed, and all-but-sponsored, by cable-news giant FOX. CODE PINK was almost completely ignored (which, as a liberal, I'm kinda glad about -- but I still stand behind my larger point). A couple went to a Bush rally wearing anti-Bush T-Shirts and got arrested. Guys standing outside Obama rallies openly carry guns and get interviewed by the media.

The heaviest hitters in the Republican party, and in the conservative media have loudly and proudly called for Obama's failure. Liberals who even softly criticized Bush were roundly shamed and called terrorist-loving-America-haters. George W. Bush, despite the controversial beginning of his presidency, was given the chance - - no, in fact, after 9/11, he was given all the unopposed freedom in the world to succeed or fail based upon his own decisions and his own performance. Bush EARNED his hatred.

Obama has not had that luxury.

He also does not have the luxury of the Clinton inheritance. He was left with a steaming pile of doo-doo and a debt already in the stratosphere. And yet they also blame him for that.

5. He doesn't have a comments section.
:)

People e-mail him and he posts some of the e-mails - like the one above - but there isn't a comment section on Andrew Sullivan's blog.

3. boy... that 10% who didn't have a favorible opinion of Bush after 9/11
was an awfully large 10%.

Not much has changed for the 'right-wing' imo. They still represent a minority- and they still are arrogant, intolerant, controling, manipulators.

6. And, then slowly they blew what good will they
had with most Americans and the World.

I was in that huge 10%..I knew the little rat bastard didn't deserve any "good will"..if he had he wouldn't have gone on vacation the whole of August after reading the August 6, 2001 Memo

8. Me too, Cha. Me too.
I remember posting at various sites in the wake of 9-11 about how Bush was corrupt and not to be trusted. Boy, did I bring a shitstorm down upon myself from the "Bush is God" loonies.

9. Hey, Arugula~
I didn't get a computer until September, 2002..so when I got to DU right away, I had a lot of frustration built up:nuke:

:hi:
:pals:

It's still the Media..we are a little further down down the road or Obamba wouldn't have won in spite of the cmWhores..and, we have an even better internet(thank you, President Al Gore:patriot:) but, we have lots of work to do in taking down the corpmediaBullshitters.

4. Excellent summary on Andrew's blog..
It's the corporatemediaWhores, Stupid, as most of us know.

They are blatant and flagrant in their bias against a Government that wants to be fair to Americans.

The corporations can have the Village Idiots out there against PO and they get big time attention just as glen bech on the cover of time rag gets a soft ball coverage.

I was excited to see the "media" coverage after the Feb 15, 2003 Protest in NYC and it was barely there...I was so disappointed. I imagine the Idiots got a lot of satisfaction soaking up their "media" coverage.

I say Down with Corpmedia and Fuck their manipulation and manufacturing of the "news".

10. I saw this on 9/11 and became a staunch member of that 10%:

10%, my ass. Anyone who saw this asshat paralyzed by stupidity that day gained an instant understanding of his capabilities to "handle" the pResidency.

11. Unable to Unite
I think after 9/11 everyone was expecting a FDR Pearl Harbor response and the country was indeed united, he screwed that up with Iraq. Even when I used to support Bush I saw that he screwed up an opportunity. Imagine if Obama handled 9/11. We wouldn't be so polarized right now.
