Bush: No skeletons in my closet
Bush: No skeletons in my closet

September 19, 2004

BY ROBERT NOVAK SUN-TIMES COLUMNIST

George W. Bush has assured his top financial supporters there are no more skeletons in his closet such as the driving-under-the-influence conviction that nearly cost him the presidency in 2000.

President Bush addressed a closed-door luncheon Wednesday at Stephen Decatur House in Washington. Answering a question, he said everything negative about him has been revealed.

Bush conceded that failure to reveal his DUI conviction was a mistake, adding that its revelation near the end of the 2000 campaign came close to electing Al Gore. The president said he kept his youthful misadventure secret, because he did not want to set a bad example for his twin, teenage daughters.

6. Translation: "We've buried everything so deep, they'll...
never find the bodies..."

What about your cocaine bust, George?

what about raping a fifteen year-old and then forcing her to get an abortion when it was illegal in Texas?

14. Why worry about ancient history? He has made failed miserably
et every turn. He has been so successfully at building up the terrorists that the news is now trying to turn a possible terrorist at tact to HELP the miserable failures bid to re-steal the White House. Can you believe that Terra-Tac-Dick says if we elect KE we will be attacked and die horribly. The talking heads say Osama may be planning an attack on the US in order to help elect Kerry. That is it Black is White. War is Peace. The Devil is pResident and we must stop this $hit mow.

Not wanting to set a bad example for the twins, that is. Think how out of control they would have been had they known! >heavy sarcasm<

4. Yup, that Shrub is such a compassionate guy

didn't want to upset his daughters. Didn't want to alarm the children in the Florida classroom on 9/11/01. He'll continue to hide any and all AWOL records so not to harm any children who may be watching TV or reading a newspaper. Got to hand it to him...that man just looooves children.

7. Amazing that he is asked, amazing that he is answered, and
amazing that Novak reports it as something that should give us reassurance!

Doesn't each step show that everyone acknowledges Bush has a credibility problem?

And doesn't everyone realize the reason why we don't ask him about whether he is telling the truth on, say, Iraq is that we KNOW he is lying on that?

17. Yes, amazing.
Amazing that someone asked, amazing that he answered.

Even more amazing is that we found out about it. Color me amazed.

Someone like bush seriously HAS to have a mental condition to compartmentalize everything in his little brain. How he is able to stand there, at a press conference 6 months ago, and blithely shake his head when someone asks if he has made any mistakes. "No, I can't think of any".

His brain must be in neat little crevices where information is stored, and none of the compartments are connected. The neurons are disconnected. That's got to be the only way he can stand up there and say stuff like that.

20. And its his greatest strengh--a certain shamelessness
that allows him to say whatever he pleases.

You say compartmentalized, I think it may be his essential selfishness combined with self righteousness.

10. Novak? Bush? Skeletons?
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Boy, do I hope a real journalist grabs Novak's head by his ears, yanks it off and shits down Novak's neck.

Same old routine, wanted to lie to the twins for the sake of the country. That one is already ancient. Time for it to be updated. Maybe if he said he hid it from the country for the sake of Laura... yeah, that's the ticket, yeah....

13. The irony there is...
That Clinton said he kept his affair quiet so as not to upset his family, and the right wing press skewered him for it. "You should have thought about your family beforehand..." and blah, blah, blah.

16. That is a skewed world vie our pResdient has
Run a dishonest campaign and lie about your past so that your daughters won't know what a fuckup you are. If you would lie to your own daughters why the heck should we expect you to tell the truth to the mere electorate?

Well, that at least has proven correct - he can't tell the truth - it apparently isn't in his genetic makeup. the sad part is that now when he lies it just isn't his twins - people die when this moran lies.

the ball.

Let's see

Snorts coke
Illegal abortoin
Not one but at least two possible affairs
Driver's licence CHANGED within last 10 years to purge record
No explanation for missing service and no one pressing him to answer
Funeral Home Scandal in Texas

And his other many failures and scams that he got away with, that people KNOW about but need to realize are a LACK of CHARACTER

22. Harken Energy, the failed Texas schools, saying Ann Richardson was
a lesbian, laughing about the execution of Karla Tucker, allowing only 15 minutes to review death row inmates pleas for stays of execution, getting fired from Carlyle, friendship with Ken Lay, the list is endless.

Oh yeah, while he was hawking the Harken stock as such a good buy, he was dumping his.

21. Read the "Muzzling Edwards?" portion of this article. Again he is
saying that JK and Teresa have muzzled Edwards because they do not want him to overshadow Kerry.

BTW, Bush's skeletons may be out of the closet but we need to go over them once again, in great juicy detail. The first-time young voters and those who weren't paying attention last time need to be informed. BRING ON THE SKELETONS!

24. And look who wrote this article: Bob Novak. Totally surreal.
I'm convinced we've been in a four-year nightmare. I've lived through Nixon & Watergate, but I've never, ever seen such blatant corruption in a presidency in my life. And the shocking part is how the media protects & sugarcoats this coWard, despite the fact that he's running our country into the ground -- both fiscally & morally.

As for Novak, it says a lot about CNN that he's still able to hold onto a job. CNN should have run him out on a rail long time ago.

28. Bush Jr.'s Skeleton Closet
George Bush likes to present himself as a straight-talking, regular guy. But it's an act -- regular guys don't go to Andover Prep, Yale and Harvard Business School, and straight-talking guys don't pretend to be regular guys after growing up in one of the most privileged homes in world history. Not only was Bush's dad president, his grandpa was a U.S. Senator and wealthy Wall Street banker, and his mom's blueblood family owned (among other things) the estate in Maine that Bush still hangs out at.

Now, as Bush's regular guy act is wearing thin, some of his other deceptions are becoming more obvious.

30. What a joke! The more his crimes are exposed the more articles
are written about how religious he is. Everything about him has been revealed and yet the media just ignores it and in the words of Judy Woodruff or whatever her name is - He's a very popular president - or something like that. Hey, yea he's popular all-right with the criminals. This bunch gets away with everything so we should just let the rest of the criminals out of jail and get it over with.

32. Except he's a phony and a LIAR so what he says means nothing
I doubt these donors even believe him.

Did they ask him why he didn't take his flight physical?
Did they ask him about the missing years in his record?
Did they ask him why he hides his life before age 40 in a closet of "youthful indiscretions," refusing to answer questions? (Not that anybody is even brave enough to ask anymore!)
