The Corporate Media is clearly against the Public Option....But is it their Job?
Many commentators in the Corporate media have been declaring the Public Option DOA for some time now!

The media doesn't oftentime comment on polls which show that the Public Option is supported
by a majority of Americans (You'd have to go back to June to see where it was mentioned - Why aren't they promoting the positive polls regarding the Public Option? They certainly promote polls showing the President's number dipping!) However, they do use polls that show that the PO is not so popular, even if they have to use Rasumussen's!

Currently, polls favor Health care Reform in General and the Public Option in most cases, but the pundits don't cite this. Why not?

The media oftentimes gives the impression that the minority town haller maniacs represent about half of the population's sentiments? Why do they characterize it that way when polls show otherwise? And why haven't the media looked into whether these town hall protests were truly started by sham organizations, i.e., astro turf? The media early on reported that "Democrats were saying that these protestors were set ups", but they never mentioned it again after the start of the showing of the nutwings at these meetings, and they never did any type of investigation to find out one way or another. Why not?

3. NPR this morning had a story about how most people are happy w/ their ....
.... health care insurance and do not want any change. I couldn't listen to it for more than 30 seconds it was
pure propaganda. Liberal media my ass.

5. Who are these people whom are "happy" with their insurance
Did they interview anybody making a low-to-middle class income? I'm sure that if you're young, no kids, don't have any major medical issues, then yeah, I suppose that they'd probably think that they were "happy" with even the crappiest insurance available. The real question is, what happens when they get sick and get that nice fat bill from their doctor's office or have to pay the first $2900 of medical expenses before the health insurer will kick in a dime? They need to do polls asking more detailed questions like: "Would you be happy with your insurance if...........you have a catastrophic illness and have to declare bankruptcy because of the resulting medical bills?"

4. Gibbs sure seemed to be defending the public option today in his press briefing...
reporter after reporter asked him in different ways if Obama will accept a bill without a public option and if he'll disappoint progressive congressmen, and he kept replying by talking about how a public option is important to keep insurance companies honest, also saying tomorrow night, Obama will explain what a PO is and what a PO is not. Sure sounds like he will say he wants a public option.
