You have abdicated your right to be parents.

That's the message that I have been leaving on some regional blogs near where I live, aimed at the dittohead parents who insist that Obama's 20 minute address to the nation's schools on the value of education is really part of a campaign to morph them into socialism spewing Che Guevara robots. Example:

The people (especially the parents) who think a 20 minute speech will change their kids into mindless socialist robots simply appall me.

Put it this way. If you think a brief glimpse of President Obama on TV is going to override the YEARS that you have spent teaching your children, through words and deeds, your idea of what being an American is, you have no right to be parents.

Do us a favor. Give your children to somebody who cares. If you're going to make them pawns in a political war that is mostly in your own heads, you don't deserve to have them.

You can imagine the responses I'm getting. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I don't understand the logic these dittohead parents are using. "Heavens! 20 minutes watching and listening to Obama and they'll be unrepentant, irretrievable SOCIALISTS!!"

I should know better, really. These are the same "Americans" who see nothing wrong with putting Hitler mustaches on Obama pictures. I can't argue with them. I can just make fun of them, and hope that more reasonable people get the joke.
