7. i propose everyone go to their local thrift stores and buy teddy bears
(ours you can stuff animals in a bag for 2 bucks a bag) and 'dress' them with hand lettered TEDDY_CARE t's or ribbons or whatever! then leave them in conspicuous places!

6. What we're going to end up with is
nothing. Single payer and full public option are not possible. Even limited public option is not doable because it will require a tax increase and Republicans will not vote for a tax increase and neither will a good number of Democrats. Mandatory insurance is out because no politician in his right mind who values reelection will vote for it -- it's very risky and unpopular.

So what's left? Insurance reform. The very thing Obama has been talking about for the last month. That's the only thing that's politically doable. This thing was f'd up from start to finish. No chance that we were ever going to get real healthcare reform given the approach that was taken.

12. The majority in Congress want to vote for mandatory insurance...
...and enrich the private health insurance companies.

They don't mind raising individual taxes if the money will go to big corporations.

The big remaining question concerns whether there will be a public option, and if so, how bad will they make it to win the approval of the Blue Dogs?
