It seems to be the Republican plan now--to substantially weaken health care reform by implying Kennedy would have known when to compromise to get health care passed. Particularly devious since they have begun a chorus warning of a "Wellstone effect' at Senator Kennedy's memorial service. No word for this but shameless!

Good for Governor Rendell for getting this out now. He was speaking about health care reform and Senator Ted Kennedy's ability to reach across the aisle on MSNBC with Ed Schultz who was moderating the four o'clock hour.

2. It's about as believable as Harry Reid having a spine
...yet there's a thread about that here today too. Either the ghost of Teddy smacked these fools upside the head, or the fix is in on some false "public option" scam from the DLC.

I really hope it's the former.

3. Rendell is a strong *partisan*
and generally does what he believes will advance the interest of the party.

He is sometimes very wrong about this, but he is very sincere in it.

4. 'Too much'? why should the winners
give up anything at all?

Remember when Bush 'won' the 2004 election? His first public statements were a warning to the opposition party (as if he had anything to worry about) that he had 'political capital' and he was going to use.

What do Dems do when they win? They feel guilty or something and immediately start talking about 'bi-partisanship'! No wonder we never get anything done. Give them nothing!
