Obama approval in Gallup tracking hits lowest point so far
Edited on Thu Aug-27-09 01:49 PM by Becky72
Now at 50%.

I expect this number to rise if a bill with a public option passes.

The situation in Afganistan may also be playing a role, IMO.

2. Hey, at least he outlasted Ford and Clinton
Presidential Approval Usually Falls Below 50%; Timing Varies

Obama began his term with one of the higher initial job approval ratings in recent history. His six-month honeymoon was slightly below average in length compared to those of other elected presidents in recent times. The recent further erosion in his public support -- perhaps a result of the push for healthcare reform and concern over the growth in government spending -- may result in one of the faster slides below majority approval for modern presidents.

However, falling below 50% would hardly mark a point of no return for Obama. All presidents went back above the 50% mark after their initial loss of majority public support. And Clinton and Reagan, who dropped below majority approval faster than most other presidents, easily won second terms in the subsequent election.

3. Not even worth paying attention to at this point. If the economy starts coming back with
unemployment starting to fall it will go back up. When Health care passes it will go back up. If it is 40% or whatever Clinton had just before the '94 election in October, 2010 then I will start to worry about losing the house and/or senate.

5. A quick search of her posts would give you good reason to find her posts "suspect."
I agree with you.

7. jenmito is well-known here
His blind bias towards the White House is well-documented.

We want to smear each other? Let's smear each other.

I do NOT have a "blind bias towards the White House." But YOU have one AGAINST "the White House." :eyes:

Edited on Thu Aug-27-09 02:42 PM by Becky72
I guess we'll have to do better research.
I stand corrected, for believing, judging by your male-sounding name, that you were a man.

10. If it's true that I'm "well known here" for WHATEVER, you'd know I'm female and my name
is Jen which many posters here call me. Criticizing RWers doesn't make it ok to constantly criticize Obama, too.

14. How often do I criticize Obama?
Edited on Thu Aug-27-09 02:52 PM by Becky72
And what's the allowed ratio? 4/1 positive to negative? 5/3?

but first. What percentage of my posts constitute an attack against Obama.

I didn't ask how many of my posts about Obama are critical of him. I asked how often I criticize him. This include ALL of my posts.

11. You have been here less than a month, according to your profile,
So you don't have a "track record" as to whom you criticize often.

However, I will say that I am starting to associate your posts with
passive-agressive put downs on this President.
But yeah....that's your right, as it is the right of those already tiring of you
to put you on ignore, etc....

13. So you determine how many posts are enough to create a "track record?
Is it 721? Or is the number 1025? Is it 402?

chess" along with other mocking or negative comments.

6. Your complaint seems suspect
Let's not even mention that attacks on other members such as yours are not permitted here. I have numerous highly-recommended threads against media whore Chuck Todd, Limbaugh, etc. I spread a NYT editorial calling for an investigation of W. Sometimes I criticize Obama, which may be the reason why you are mad.

Buh uh oh! I dared observe that Obama's poll numbers are at a low point and my posts are "suspect."

Obama at 55% (still 2% higher than PV in the election LAST YEAR) is just way too low and there's no possible way his job approval rating will be high enough to assure his re-election...............in 2012.
