Does anyone remember this song and why it is significant to us as Democrats?

7. Ding! Ding! Ding!
We havea Winnah!

Yes indeed, that is the song and the reference.

I too cannot hear this song without remembering Bill Clinton.

I miss the Big Dawg and hope that, someday, President Obama, will bring us back the peace an prosperity we enjoyed during his terms in office.

11. Bush: 'Our Long National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity Is Finally Over'
Edited on Tue Aug-25-09 08:41 PM by Xipe Totec
January 17, 2001

"My fellow Americans," Bush said, "at long last, we have reached the end of the dark period in American history that will come to be known as the Clinton Era, eight long years characterized by unprecedented economic expansion, a sharp decrease in crime, and sustained peace overseas. The time has come to put all of that behind us."

Bush swore to do "everything in (his) power" to undo the damage wrought by Clinton's two terms in office, including selling off the national parks to developers, going into massive debt to develop expensive and impractical weapons technologies, and passing sweeping budget cuts that drive the mentally ill out of hospitals and onto the street.

During the 40-minute speech, Bush also promised to bring an end to the severe war drought that plagued the nation under Clinton, assuring citizens that the U.S. will engage in at least one Gulf War-level armed conflict in the next four years.

"You better believe we're going to mix it up with somebody at some point during my administration," said Bush, who plans a 250 percent boost in military spending. "Unlike my predecessor, I am fully committed to putting soldiers in battle situations. Otherwise, what is the point of even having a military?"

15. Xipe OMG! I Love the Onion
It's almost as if the person who wrote that article in January 2001, had psychic powers! LOL! Everything he said about bush came true! SNL also did a bit about what would happen when Bush was elected, fires burning in the background , Bush in the oval office amidst a mess on his desk, the world in total chaos! Wish I had a video of that. It was too funny, then again...maybe "funny" is the wrong word...He sure created one hellava mess.

said the same thing....can't think of one without the other.

Ah, Big Dawg...I miss him, too. It was glorious seeing him during the coverage of his recent successful mission to North Korea.:D

And he'll always be sexy as hell to me! Sorry, couldn't help myself.

17. The whole damn album was.
One of the biggest selling albums of all time, and arguably Fleetwood Mac's best work (certainly THAT version of Fleetwood Mac anyway) and the whole thing was basically written during (and about) the soap opera going on in the band at the time.

21. It was also about triumph over personal tragedy
Relationships that were both passionate and passionately stormy, some that transpired inside the band and some out, personal tragedy and triumph, hirings, firings, and any other difficulties in life you could imagine and overcome. Thats what I read in "The Fleetwood Mac Story: Rumours and Lies".

37. I'm a big Fleetwood Mac fan, I went to one of there best sites and found this for you

"Don't Stop was written during the recording of the Rumours album in 1976 around the time that John and Christine McVie were breaking up. It was one of the classic breaking up songs from an album that also included Dreams and Go Your Own Way, Stevie Nicks' and Lindsey Buckingham's messages to one another. Christine knew the best way she could communicate with John was through music, so she wrote the song as a message to him. Christine said at that time that she still had a lot of love for John. She knew things were over between them, but she wanted the best for him. Perhaps she was referring to John's drinking problems and problems in the studio, getting "blocked." So, maybe she is telling John that it will pass and the next time he plays it will be better. It is also a general message of universal optimism for people to hold onto, including the rest of the band. She might mean that the days when sales were low and the members were leaving are over, and the new lineup and album was going to be much better than that."

31. Not sure. Why does anyone not like a song? I think it's the tune...
I don't care for the music part. The words don't particularly strike a chord with me, either.

Don't
stop
thinkin' about tomorrow
Don't
stop
it'll soon be here

????

But I DO like "Hey, Girl" by the Chi-lites!

Hey, girl...I'd be in trouble if you left me now-ow
'Cause I don't know where
To look for love...
I just don't know howwwwwww...

Why do I like that song? I don't know. I just do.

now as it was then for us progressive because we "think about tomorrow" and how things can be better. The conservatives/Repukes want us go backwards. As a black woman, I know what that means. I think many of them yearn for the days of segregation and when women were treated as chattel.
