I think some of us can only imagine all too clearly where we could be right now. The horror! I just love that this thread has received so many positive responses. I don't have issue with those who criticize Obama, but I do with those who criticize incessantly because they are unable to see any bright points to this Presidency, OUR Presidency that we all worked so very hard for. Dissent is fine. What I have seen on DU lately is something much more than dissent. It is people unwilling to see that one man can't possibly pull off the change they are seeking without our help. I will bet my life savings (not much, mind you) that the same people criticizing have not done a 10th of what we supporters have done. Think about that, Obama and Clinton haters. What have YOU done to bring about the change you are crying for?

He's been pretty consistent on that, and look at the recent town hall meetings...no hand-picked loyal "Bushies" cordoned off within admiring distance. Most of the Bush public appearances were designed to stroke his ego...people who would be called on in the crowd to "thank him for protecting us" and such.
