Linda Douglass Just Made An Ass Of Herself On The Ed Show.....
she kept spouting talking points and wouldn't acknowledge Ed's valid questions. This dismal appearance casts doubts on whether the WH really knows what the people think and how to get this health reform passed.

2. Disagree. Ed looked like a blowhard
engaging in semantical minutia in a vein attempt to prove his point.

7. Minutia? That Half The People Believe The Lies & Misinformation.....
being spewed by the RW & Repugs. That's important to consider. If one believes this poll - the WH isn't getting the message across to the American People. Those misconceptions need to be dealt with sooner rather than later for fear that they don't spread to more people. That has nothing to do with this being August and Congress being on recess.

If Ed looked like a blowhard - I wish we had more blowhards to push like Ed does.

12. Obama has pointed out many times that these are bald-faced lies
Serious question here, what else can he do but what he's already doing?

We already know that 30% of America will beleive those lies no matter what Obama says.

17. Ed pressed her in a friendly way... She was oblivious...
Ed was hardly the blowhard and I agree, if he were, we need far more like him.

4. Obama seems perfectly clear on the subject but the rest of his cabinet
and staff are fucking up big time and unable to get their stories straight.

I think he needs to kick some ass. These people are serving him very poorly.

6. What "talking points"? All she was saying is that nothing has changed.
The public option is still Obama's plan.

Please explain.

according to some here. Who knows? I am ready to give up on it all.

25. LOL. Obama should produce a fake Kenyan BC and claim its real, just to end it all.

Some people don't deserve a calm, cool and practical President like this in times like these. After what we've just been through, I can't understand people's lack of appreciation and their surplus of unrealistic expectations.

27. That is kind of funny actually. If Obama wanted a way out he could do that.
But I think he knew what he was getting into.

28. Thats the thing, people accuse him of being weak, but taking this on knowing what it would be...
...really challenges that narrative quite a bit. He predicted that it was gonna be a big fight with the special interests and all that they and their political allies do when someone tried to take the health care fight on. I don't think any of these people trashing his efforts would be able to even come close to having the spine he has for dealing with all these problems.

30. On top of all the other problems of the world as well
Sometimes I think we need an online game called "Being the President" and we can actually try to do what the President does. Of course, its not real life but it would be interesting. Bush would fail at the game badly. :)

15. Ed Was Concerned By The Poll Showing Half The People Believe The Lies.....
that are being spewed. She didn't acknowledge that in any meaningful way - she just kept on saying what she was told to say - about the public option and this being August and Congress is on recess. That's what I mean about talking points. I want them to acknowledge how they are going to handle clearing up this misinformation - and she couldn't and wouldn't talk to that. It made her look like an ass. She could have said something to quell Ed's probings on the misinformation and could have stopped him from getting more riled. She didn't.

20. What could she have said that you would have been happy with?
Lies are lies, and they are automatically "believed" by about 30% of America by default.

What should she have said?

10. She seems to think just because the Congress is in recess that the debate has stopped.
The White House isn't keeping the debate where they want it and it's costing them. If the President is still firmly for a robust Public Option then he needs to get out front of this train because it's about to come off the tracks. Just look at what one statement from the HHS Secretary did to the debate. We need a line in the sand now to stop this bleeding of support.

insurance, end of debate.

Period, last word, final answer, if Obama cannot say that, he's cooking himself.

This is good cop/bad cop. They serve the same donors as the GOP.

Just because we don't want to give media what they want, doesn't mean we're not doing what we need to do.

31. Not as big an ass as Arianna Huffington just did on Olbermann
talking about how Obama "gave away" single-payer which, anyone who has been paying attention for the last 2 years knows, was NEVER ON THE TABLE. Never. I almost choked on my wine before I changed the channel to CNN.
