Sebelius' comment being distorted by the GOP/MSM
Edited on Sun Aug-16-09 06:47 PM by ProSense
The Hill:

Republicans, signaling a victory, pounced Sunday afternoon on the administration’s shift. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky.) office circulated a list of quotations from Obama to illustrate how the president had previously insisted on including a public option in a healthcare reform bill.

AP:

WASHINGTON – Bowing to Republican pressure and an uneasy public, President Barack Obama's administration signaled Sunday it is ready to abandon the idea of giving Americans the option of government-run insurance as part of a new health care system.

1. And they're so damned stupid, they don't realize it's gonna backfire on them
cuz the liberal blogosphere is fired up again, and they're only going to start sending more emails and calls and putting more pressure on both the president AND congress.

HA! Republicans are dumb.

5. it's a victory for the GOP, but might be a temporary one
liberals might fight Obama and get him to put the public option back as a priority, and then the story would read "Bowing to pressure from liberals..."
