When I go to see a doctor, I'm a patient. I'm someone who is either sick or needs to be evaluated and given something to alleviate whatever ailment or be checked up on to make sure I'm not developing an ailment.

The person I see is not a provider, is not a marketing rep for a pharmaceutical, is not a fucking salesman they are a fucking doctor.

The doctor deserves to make a very good living for alleviating illness, they are an important part of our society but turning doctors into businessman is fucking wrong.

The drug I take to alleviate any ailment I may have is not a fucking product to be marketed. It is treatment and shouldn't be marketed like Pepsi or Coke.

Rant over.

4. I don't find this funny.
I totally sympathize.

Putting profits over patients is SO wrong.

9. I wasn't being funny
One of the most irritating things that have happened under the Republicans is that we are now considered consumers. I am a US Citizen. What's funny about that?

11. Yep, i hate it when local politicos talk about the public commons as if they were
their private little boutique or some crap.

Government isn't a business and it damn well shouldn't be.

10. My sentiments exactly
I remember a time, long, long ago, when doctors and hospitals couldn't advertise. There was a certain integrity in medicine that is now long gone.

12. Actually I've been to lots of doctors who are just salespeople for big pharma.
Not all, but most. IMO that problem needs to be addressed as well.

14. Ummmm... I get your point.. but you may want to reconsider...
Patient: a word based on the Latin patiens, “one who endures or suffers calmly or without complaint – the same root that gives us the word “passive”.
