Wonder how a Maxine Waters townhall meeting would go?
Would the Conservatives For Patients' Rights group have the guts to go into CBC country?

The Afrospear is having a good time with this possibility.

Talk about an asswhupping waiting to happen :fistbump:

5. Exactly
I'm almost thinking that they are busing these people to townhalls where they know they can get away with this shit.

I'm not recommending hiding and running , but my congressman Brad Miller is receiving death threats and has elected not to do townhalls. To be fair his people said he didn't have any plan before the insurrection.

I suggest that a vulnerable Dem team up with a CBC member in his/her state and hold townhall meetings in the CBC member's district and make sure it gets media coverage.

I guarantee there will not be a Doggett, Sebelius or Levin episode.

2. They seem to try to limit themselves to town halls where there is at least a near-even split of
Democrats and Republicans.

Oh, and lots of older white people. Note the videos so far of disrupted town halls have very few young minorities at these meetings?

10. I thought they were going to their districts
They don't seem to be blue dogs townhalls and one would think that the districts would be majority democrat.

Of course, since they are democrat townhalls everyone is welcomes no matter the party affiliation.

3. You mean here in Jacksonville?
The hate down here is flammable, I'd be afraid some jerk would follow me home and become violent.
Seriously. We didn't even put up political signs and many of our friends who did were vandalized (either yard, home or car).

4. I wish she would. I don't think those lily white tea baggers would want to
venture in. It's not that they wouldn't be treated with respect for voicing their rights, but they would be too scared to do it because they are racist.

8. I think you mean terrified. They would not be terrorized by
the people that I believe would attend, workers, union members and other Democrats in the community.

7. Ooo angee. Just thinking about it gives me the shivers
Maxine would probably give them that "are you out of your damned mind?" look that every black woman in America has mastered to a T before putting them ever so QUICKLY in their places without breaking a sweat.

Maxine wouldn't open a bottle of Beat Down on them in public. She'd do it sweetly and with a (steely) smile. :)

14. I've seen Waters speak a good deal...
and haven't seen her do much of anything "sweetly." She's pretty much perpetually ill-humored. I like her uncompromising lefty politics and find her frequently angry bluntness refreshingly candid amidst all the phoney decorousness of many politicians. I'm glad she doesn't toe the stupid line that a woman must not appear "shrill" or a black American "angry." A hell of a lot of her LA constituents have good reason to be angry, and it's fitting that they have a congresswoman who doesn't hesitate to show anger.

16. They need to fight back
or have someone with them who will. You can not reason with unreasonable people.

Have the townhalls in CBC districts so that there is a serious conversation and invite the media to get the coverage. Right now the message isn't getting out, but pictures of dems running away is.

11. That would be too much of a challenge
They won't go anywhere where they are out of their league and can't be bullies.
