Obama Critics NOT HAPPY Today! Clinton!Gore!Obama! All 3 Getting Praise!
Not sure about anyone else, but I was so PROUD of Bill Clinton this morning. Watching him "get the Job Done" gets me teary eyed. Watching Al Gore right up there with him also made me feel proud to have supported them both and be a Democrat.Hearing how when the two journalist walked and saw Bill Clinton there sent chills down my spine. This act has shown the country how Democrats work. All Three worked together to make this happen and it's a good day for America. It also showed the world how loved and respected Bill Clinton is, and the Republicans have NO ONE they could praise like that and it drives them nuts(which is why they do their very best to knock Democrats and Bill Clinton down)

2. It's nice, but not all that important
I doubt if Bill's N.Korea visit was to negotiate. His visit was probably one condition of a pre-arranged deal for the release of the reporters. Kim Jung Il is some kind of crazy groupie.

Now, can we get back to the business of health care reform? This is just a cute distraction.

:hi:

5. That is the case the North Koreans wanted Clinton to come and if he did they would release them
still it doesn't take away from the fact that we got them home safely and honorably. Kudos to Bill Clinton, SOS Hillary Clinton and President Obama for authorizing this to happen.

15. But Clinton "aplogized" for the two women, dinja know?
Americans don't apologize for nuthin'! I can hear it now from the RWingers...

I'm in your fair state for a 3 week stay on the Door Peninsula, where we have a vacation house (inherited, not bought on our own!). In fact, I am typing this on a computer in the Sturgeon Bay library! Real pretty here. Where are you?

31. Actually, you are partly right
Sen. John Kerry, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, was also closely involved in coordinating efforts with the White House and State Department to free the women.

According to sources intimately involved with the efforts, Sen. John Kerry -- chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee -- received an official invitation to visit Pyongyang to facilitate their release and open a larger dialogue on the nuclear issue after several weeks of quiet direct diplomacy between Kerry and his aides and North Korea.

3. yes I was trying to imagine this happening in the Bush era.
I just couldn't. I couldn't imagine anyone who would be able to do what Bill did, with, of course, the help of all the unsung support people in the State Dept. and elsewhere. It's a feather in the cap for Obama, and for the Democratic party in general.

What will the Right find to criticize? Don't worry, they'll find something, however divorced from reality it turns out to be.

John Bolton already has his panties twisted up over it. Dems just do diplomacy better and they want everything to end in disaster for the Dems.

11. I thought the same thing
the democrats not only have a leader of the party (Obama) but they have a dream team (both Clintons, Biden, Obama, Gore).

The republicans don't even have a leader besides Rush

This release would have never happened if Bush/Cheney were still president. They seen this type of stuff as weakness, they would have never rescued the two women. I honestly believe that with all my heart.

16. 'Bout time! I completely...
...agree, and posted about it yesterday:

All my favorite Dems on deck for...

...this. I like what Donna Brazille said...she said it was a 'symphony'. Perfect.

Thank you to Senator Kerry, President Obama, Former President Clinton, Former Vice-President Al Gore and Secretary of State (and former First Lady) Hillary Clinton.

Amazing what can be accomplished when we work together! Good work, guys...

20. Compare his status and recognition to that of Bush, Sr.
who was despised by people in the know around the world 30+ years ago. Even when Bush the elder was Nixon's UN ambassador, people knew he was part of America's global corporate empire.

Clinton bashers right here are strangely silent, too. They are few in number, but pretty reliable....not today, though, for the most part.
