I have fun with a RWer...
Edited on Tue Aug-04-09 10:11 PM by Wetzelbill
I was bored on Facebook, so you know, I couldn't let this go. :) -WB

RWer:
Im NOT left as for all u obama lovers, see how well u like the dick in another yr or so!!! If the first 100 DAYS wasnt bad enough!!

ME:
Yeah of getting us out of a depression and all, that just sucked.

RWer:
Dont no what planet your on wetzel, but were FAR from out of recession, not to mention the stimulus that didnt work, spending more than ANY president combined, the completely fucked health-care plan, his ass-kissin to muslim countries, should i go on... oh lets not forget about him pushin socialism on everyone!!!!! Yea REAL great fella.

ME:
Evidently you missed the latest numbers or just don't care about them. Job loss has been cut in half, GDP is better than expected. Only 10 percent of the stimulus has been enacted and the economy has ended what constitutes a recession. Employment numbers should slowly but surely improve. And he didn't spend more than any president combined, that's a myth, his stimululus wasn't even half of what Bush's tax cuts that did nothing and he had to do it to avoid a depression, that's econ 101. The GOP alternative was to give out 3 trillion in tax cuts and freeze spending, that's just Sling Blade stupid. The socialism thing is a joke, it's just a buzzword, a guy running for head of the RNC wanted to change it to calling him a fascist because the socialism thing doesn't poll well, lol. Ronald Reagan had a higher tax rate on the highest bracket than Obama has, just just upped it by 3 points and gave out the biggest middle class tax cut in history and you guys act like it's the end of the world.

RWer:
Your takin some GOOD acid, but like a typical liberalyou pull numbers out your ass, the unemployment rate is almost 10 percent, odummy talked shit that it would not exceed 8. Mark my words, time will tell, then all you will eat crow. To bad the country will be fucked by then.

ME:
Please. I got what I said from the latest GDP release which showed the economy contracted in the second quarter, which means that with the next report it will almost certainly say the end of the recession came either in July or right about now. And I find it hard to believe that Obama ever said it wouldn't go over 8 percent since it was about 8 percent when he took office and he's consistently said expect things to get worse.

See, here's the thing. You're an authoritarian thinker. You basically just repeat what you hear from somebody you consider an authority figure. It's why you say "socialism" when you don't know what it is, or why you said the made up thing about Obama spending more than any president combined. Or why you are against a health plan that hasn't even made it into an actual bill yet. That came from a RW think tank's talking points, btw. Object to something that doesn't even exist yet, and you just did it. So did the ass kissing Muslim countries thing too, which...

is borderline racist and xenophobic too. So do you think all Muslims are terrorists then? You must have missed the other day when Bin Ladin's 2nd, Ayman al-Zawahiri gave a speech asking for a truce from Obama, because we're not allowing them to have a safe haven in Waziristan like Bush did. Or because AQ recruitment is down because moderate Muslims have a world leader who has reached out to them and not condemned them like you and your ilk do. See, I am not a liberal really, I am a policy guy. It's what I do. I know what works and what doesn't, I spend my life studying it as a writer and sometimes columnist. You on the other hand, just have hate and want the president and the country to fail, that's really big of you. It's good thing your time is over and this is a new world.

Small update:

Another person on the thread posted this:

I gotta tell you, Bill, your commitment here is astounding. I gave up on this strings of comments before it even got started.

ME:
Really, he's just a run of the mill type, came in here barking around like a loud drunk in a bar insulting people. Nobody was fighting with each other or anything, he just came in screaming "LOUD NOISES" for no apparent reason. Normally it's not worth addressing, but here we were all joking around etc, and it just had no place. Typical though.

3. I can't remember where I got that exactly
I think something like that was said in a Jim Carrey movie, but it always cracks me up, lol. I did hate to drag Karl down like that though. :)

2. Good one
"You basically just repeat what you hear from somebody you consider an authority figure." One of my friends from a long time ago used something similar when arguing. He'd say "Who told you to say that?", with the implication being that the person in question could not have possibly thought of it on their own. These folks absolutely are parrots, but the difference is that parrots are more self-conscious of their parroting.

Don't know what planet your FB friend is on, but it's certainly one wherein the rules of spelling, grammar and punctuation do not apply.

4. it's a classic example of RW thought
It's why they can see an absolute fact, but disagree with it because say Rush Limbaugh said something different.

He was actually on a mutual friend's page, so he's not really my friend, I know who he is because we're from the same small town. He is pretty challenged in grammar etc, but I usually don't point that out because it's on the internet and I make typos all the time, it just happens. I did it in my replies too, just not on the level he did. I really would have passed on it, but everybody on that post happened to be friends and were just joking around with each other and he came in acting like a bully and insulting people.

7. Do any of those people ever actually read what they type?
It reads like a stream-of-consciousness mental ramble, pointless and disjointed.

8. part of it might be anger
In a hurry and make mistakes. But I don't know what it is but it seems like Movement Conservatives really lack grammar and spelling skills. Not all of course, but many. Like McCain in a national ad last year even had a word spelled wrong. How many people looked at that and missed it? Unbelievable. And it seems like they put together thoughts the same way that Palin does. Palin speaks and tweets in a jumbled mess just like you described. Lots of Republicans seem to do that.

It also could just be internet speak. Like using U instead of "you" or No instead of "know" but that doesn't account for the whole pointless mess either.

10. I notice that a lot of what they are saying is about the future.
They don't have enough stuff that actually has happened to complain about so it's always what Obama is going to do, and what the country is going to be like (i.e. ruined). Anything positive that Obama does is immediately forgotten, down the memory hole. Same place that everything bad Bush and the other Repubs have done that is bad went. Hope that works out for them. Me, I'll take reality.
