A question regarding "Birthers"
Ok, so these guys are so up in arms about Obama having not been born in the United States and was born in Kenya, as if he magically popped out of thin air and landed on the streets of Nairobi.

Has anyone thought to ask where Anne Dunham was? Um, last I checked I don't think she ever traveled to Kenya. Considering he spent 9-months inside her, I think that would be a valid point that kind of ends the whole discussion.

1. Birfers have made up some BS about her travelling to Kenya right
before he was born. She is long dead. Her passport is no doubt long gone.

Besides, she could have had him on the moon - he's still her son and therefore a citizen.

3. The birthers have BS about that, too

They say that Obama's mom had not lived in the U.S. long enough after age 14 (because she was only 18 at the time and the law required 5 years in the U.S. after age 14) to confer citizenship.

However, that law was intended to apply to Americans who had taken up residence overseas -- not those who were merely visiting another country. The fact that Obama's mother was a U.S. citizen who was, at the time, living in the U.S., makes Obama a citizen even if he was born over the border. But... that point is moot because Obama was born in Hawaii.

5. Boy, those wing nuts seem to have this delusion
that they can twist a law to mean anything. Shrub and Cheney were certainly of that bizarre mindset, and damn near all of them, come to think of it. Is it a form of insanity? Does it come from the twisted idea that the end justifies the means?

2. I thought this myself.
I was under the impression that his mother met the father here in the United States and that they lived here while married. Why on earth would anyone travel overseas late in pregnancy?

The whole thing is just plain stupid.

And that is not what the "birther" thing is all about anyway. The truth is that they can't deal with the fact that a Black man is the President of the United States.

4. The claim by the birthers...
IS she went to Kenya late in her pregnancy to meet his family, and ended up too close to her due date to return. So she had little Barack at Coast Hospital, and had her parents plant a birth announcement in the Honolulu papers to cover for his birth overseas (since she was 3 months shy of the age to pass on citizenship if the child was born outside of the United States). She then returned to Hawaii and got an amended birth certificate to "prove" he was born in Hawaii.

Yeah, I know, it's a crock of shit, but that's what they believe.

11. Yep.
Nor do they seem to care that their "savior" John McBush wasn't even born in an American state.

6. Are the passport records archived somewhere in D.C.?
Birthers have to prove it. Show proof that Obama's mother was traveling at the time.
