3. How is going from 72% to 66% meaning it's down 15%?
A poll at the beginning of July had 72% supporting a public option.

We have 66% now.

Where's the 15% drop again?

8. Ugh...
I don't recall ever seeing support as high as 80%. Whatever the case, it's a bad idea to compare across polls from different organizations due to question wording, sampling techniques, screens, etc.

17. Uh no. Those polls had 81% of the public wanting health care reform and 72% wanting a public option
Edited on Wed Jul-29-09 08:12 PM by 4lbs
However, I have no idea what the 9% difference that wanted health care reform but didn't want a public option were thinking of though, unless it was single-payer.

4. I thought the previous polls were about single payer.
Public option is not the same thing.

7. People don't know how to read polls.
Often they misread the questions or compare two different polls.

14. Yeah
Tweety, Fuck Todd, The Schooooster, and the pack of jackals all lack the honesty to report a range of polling data on the issues of the day. Everybody's busy trying to get into the right cocktail parties instead of informing America.

What a bunch of light weights.

13. how far down are these numbers buried?
You'd think polls about actual policy would be what leads the news.

15. Harris Poll released today: A majority supports public option
This poll finds that a modest 52% to 30% majority supports such a plan, and that
the arguments in favor of it tend to generate more support than those against it.

18. Two-to-one in favor.
With the 30% being the same GOP dead-enders who think Sarah Palin is a foreign-policy expert.

All the obstructionists should take note of this.

23. WOW -watching the "news" channels you would never think that
Virus hit our computer at home so I have been cut off from DU/internet for most of two weeks

Watching Joe in the morning you would think that Obama is done for in all accounts, might as well resign. Good to see that my well trained BS detector still works but I have to say their pablum is effective...I was forced to think that the public option was not only going to be bought off my the insurance companies but that there was no support for it.

24. THe approval numbers make me think that this poll is an outlier
His approval numbers are 58% and 30% disapproval, which are both improvements over the last poll. But Gallup, NBC/WSJ have both shown his approval rating much lower and his disapproval rating much higher.

Id have to question all numbers in this poll.
