Laws to prevent racial profiling?
Obama yesterday mentioned a law that he got passed, while in the Illinois Senate.

Last year, during caucus night, after the mob that just came to vote for Obama left, some of us stayed behind to propose resolutions that would then be presented to district and state conventions.

One elderly gentleman, an African American, described encounters with the local police that could have only be explained by racial profiling. He wanted to pass a law "similar to the one in New Jersey."

Is anyone here familiar with the Illinois and/or the New Jersey law?

I don't know what happened to that resolution upstream. Probably was left by the wayside. But perhaps, with Obama in the White House, we may have a better chance to address this issue next year. That is, if governor Timmy will not veto it, too, on his imagined road to the White House.
