Freep convention looking like it may be an epic fail...

So it appears they announced the convention about a month ago...on the 17th of June. On the 18th they announced once the had 9 sign ups and once they got to 10 people buying their convention tix and booking their hotel they'd do a drawing for a tee shirt. June 19th they had their 10th.

Another drawing announced on Friday June 19th for a tee shirt out of the next 10 members who booked hotel & bought convention tix. HUGH ANNOUNCEMENT on the 19th, they had their first new entry into the next free tee shirt give away. It was decided this contest would be closed at midnight sunday June 21.

By Sunday midnight it appears a total of 5 freeps signed on for drawing #2 so that brings their total number of paid attendees to 15.

June 27th announcement that they have some registration goals to meet by June 30th but no specifics as to what those goals are.

June 29th angry post:

"WHERE ARE ALL THE FREEPERS?

There were over 200 FREEPERS who said they were going to book a room at the Sheraton Hotel at our great group rate.

There were over 300 FREEPERS who said they were going to come to Washington, DC for the National Tea Party and they were going to come to our National Freeper Convention!

JUST ASKING, WHERE ARE ALL THOSE FREEPERS?"



No mention of whether they made their June 30th goals but on July 1st Freep starts looking for donations:

"Anyone who is willing to donate to help with our convention and the Tea Parties will have their offer generously accepted.

Please let me know if you would like your donation to be anonymous or if I can brag about your help all over FR!"

Then pretty much nothing, some chit chat, a few bumps but nothing has been posted in freep convention thread in almost a week.

At the March for Women's Lives, back in 2004, they had the nicest Porta-Potty I have ever seen. 3 stalls in an attractive building. Clean, clean, clean, with light up mirrors, sinks, running water, vanities. (The floor may have been carpeted, though I don't really recall, just that I wasn't offended like I would usually be in a porta-potty.) It was not unpleasant to use.

I didn't know such a thing even existed. Leave it to Democratic organizations...
