18. of course they will improve. the stimulus starts kicking in.
so the numbers will "show" things got better under a Republican if they are voted in and the Dem is voted out during this cycle.

12. We've always had high property taxes in NJ
I'm in Ocean County and mine haven't gone up anymore thasn usual under Corzine, not that the Governor sets the property taxes anyway. Are you a prison guard by any chance?

14. High property taxes?
Naaahhhh, I wouldn't know anything about it.

I live in Hoboken, it has the highest property taxes in Hudson County. My consolation is that since both Corzine and Menendez are my neighbors, they have to pay them too.

17. You guys are like #1, we in CT are #3. Sigh. But I am not leaving, ever.
http://efinancedirectory.com/articles/States_with_the_Highest_and_Lowest_Property_Taxes.html

The northeast just is more expensive over all, but I could never get used to a slower paced culture. I am just used to it by now. Some people hate the congestion, the amount of people, the expenses but oh well...

19. Yeah, commuting to work is an adventure around here.
Plenty of transportation and all of it messed up. LOL!!

On the other hand, NJ and CT are always battling for first place as they have the highest income per capita in the nation. So, people may pay more in taxes, but their income is higher too.

Our congestion can be a nightmare, our highways were not built for all this traffic (look at the Merritt Parkway) but we are small, so it still takes less time to get around then other states.

15. People don't understand that property taxes promote better schools, which in turn,
promote better neighborhoods. Newark is turning around for the better, as is Jersey City and Hoboken.

Property taxes are high no matter who the governor is, Dem or Repug.

Why blame Corzine? All governors are facing tough economic times.

I wish Americans were taught critical thinking skills as youngsters. If they did, they would understand the governing process much better, and thus not so quick to blame people who don't deserve it.

16. And they forget that states have had to raise taxes as a result of republicon policies
If the federal government hadn't pulled the rug out from under the states, a lot of this crisis at the state and local level could have been averted.

25. You better hope Lautenberg is in good health for the next four years.
Because if your boy Christie becomes governor and, God forbid, something happens to Lautenberg, guess who picks the next senator?

Think before you type, my friend.
