Republicans going after Sotomayor are solidifying any chance of getting Hispanic vote in the future
I couldn't think of a better trap to set for the Republicans than to have the Sotomayor hearings expose them for being the Party Of No Victories in the future by going after her with arguments that college dropouts like Beck, Hannity and Limbaugh have spawned.

Sure, the redneck voters that are in what I call the Dumbass Crescent (the inner Bible Part hotbed of racist homophobes that make up the shrinking Republican Party) will love these guys picking on a Latina woman. After all, they hate people like her. She's smart, she's got experience and she's got brown skin.

So, as the hearings get more convoluted and obvious in their hypocrisy, the Republicans are just further sealing their fate as the New Whigs. If they had any leadership aboard, they would have assumed a moderate like Souter was going to be replaced by a moderate like Sotomayor and gone on to other battles... but no, they can't resist BEING STUPID.

1. But they still have Palin
She can come to the rescue, can't she? I mean a few "winks" and she can learn to say "you betcha", and all those dump things in Spanish. She can move to a border state so she can see Mexico "from her porch", and she can save the party, or not!

3. It would be best if this went on longer, they'd raise money and lose vote at the same time...
...and that money would be for not.

4. Most of us vote Democrat anyway... except for the religious nuts who are
anti-choice and anti-gay (the Catholic church holds strong sway over many of us).

My mom votes Republican... she was raised Catholic, and guess what? She's anti-choice and anti-gay.

5. And, it's the way they're going
after her..all blatantly racist and sexist..as only they are capable of.

Seems they can't help themselves to save their lives.

They can't resist- part and parcel to the fear and loathing of Hispanics- or anyone else who's perceived to be "the other."

8. They're cooked, and don't seem to care. As they continue to push away
swing vote constituencies (Hispanics, suburban professionals, etc.) the momentum will feed on itself. The money will continue to dry-up as interest groups shift their backing away from a political party with diminishing influence. It's a rolling snowball for the GOP with no end in sight.

9. The MSM is doing it's best to help the Republicans though. Yahoo had an article "Firefighters
hate Somomayor!" something to that effect.

12. Republicans
They are hurting themselves with going after Sotomayor.I may be white myself but I call all this outrage over the Rico Case BS.This
Is all about trying to create further probelms between minorities and Whites.

If Obama can get the 72 Percent of Hispanic voters nationwide In 2012 that Bill CLinton got In 1996 then Arizona could be In Play
with Mccain not on the ticket. And If Republicans keep this up then In 2016 whoever the Democratic Nominee Is could have a shot In
Texas.
