Ever single teevee network asked the president about Michael Jackson in their interviews today
War and Peace, an Ailing Economy, and Michael Jackson
By Peter Baker

War and peace, nuclear weapons, democracy, an ailing world economy – President Obama’s agenda on his first visit to Russia in office has no shortage of weighty issues.

So when he granted separate interviews in Moscow to each of the five major American television networks on Tuesday morning, what was the one thing all five made sure to ask about? The death of the pop star Michael Jackson.

In fairness, the network correspondents also asked about nuclear weapons, missile defense and other serious subjects. And some asked about Jackson only on instruction from above. But the reality is Mr. Jackson’s death, nearly two weeks ago, has drawn more airtime than the arms control agreement Mr. Obama signed, much to the consternation of his aides.

3. I'm just glad he's out of the country and doesn't have to see...
.... just how much they're ignoring him today.

I've been up for half an hour and not even ONE mention on the "all politics network" that he's even out of the country.

It is more that the MJ memorial service is coming up shortly, that it is now wall to wall coverage. And, to be clear, it is being covered on Fox News as well as every single network and cable tv news channel. Not a partisan thing. Just a celebrity thing.
