New CNN poll, Obama remains steady at 61% approval.
Edited on Mon Jun-29-09 01:51 PM by jezebel
WASHINGTON (CNN) – A new national poll indicates that President Barack Obama's approval rating among Americans remains steady.

Sixty-one percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Monday say they approve of how Obama's handling his duties as president. Thirty-seven percent disapprove.

The 61 percent approval rating is down one point from May and down six points from February.

"Since March, Obama's approval rating has gone down one percentage point each month in CNN polls," notes CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "In March it was 64 percent; in April it was 63 percent. Last month his approval rating stood at 62 percent and now it is at 61 percent."

The poll suggests when it comes to opinions of Obama, gender and generation gaps continue.

1. PROOF that we MUST listen to and ENACT republican ideas.
Edited on Mon Jun-29-09 01:56 PM by MNDemNY
The public has spoken, and they are clearly saying.." We like the black dude, he's cool, but the republicans policies are waayyy better." We can no longer deny this. And, this also points to the FACT that nearly all Americans do NOT want a public option for health care, just look at the numbers.

2. Well that ought to shut the MSM up...for a few more days anyway
It's very clear that the MSM bobbleheads desperately want to run with a new narrative about Obama "slipping in the polls" and voters having "buyers remorse", blah, blah... But this new poll should shut that kind of talk down, for a few more days anyway.

Stupid facts!!! Damn them!

3. Are you kidding me, he's tanking...
I really like the line, he's down 1% per month since taking office. Like having a 61% approval rating isn't something that any puke would die to be near.

5. This "slipping in the polls" meme is getting lame
Not to mention the fact that if he won 53% of the vote last November and his approval rating is 61%, then that means, of course, that he's essentially won over 8% (or more depending on whatever he is polling on a given day) of the electorate since he was elected (curious about why you never see his numbers framed THAT way :eyes:). I personally don't have any reason to worry about his approval until he starts heading down around 47% McCain/Palin territory or into the sewer where we last left Bush/Cheney at the end of their (mis-)administration. I'm not entirely sure what in the world President Obama would need to do to fall to such lowly lows but it would have to be epic. I would actually be surprised if he doesn't hold steady in the high 50's to lower 60's absent any massive Bushian clusterf**ks but you know the corporate whoremedia is going to be creaming themselves the MOMENT that he dips below 60%. I would bet good money on it. :eyes:
