1. I don't the think the public option is a liberal position.
I think short of single-payer it's the ONLY proposal on the table that is genuine reform.

There is no point in pushing forward a healthcare bill without reform. It would be yet another ridiculous exercise in counting on insurance companies to play nice. We saw how nicely that worked out with the banks.
