Edited on Wed Jun-24-09 12:56 PM by LaydeeBug
we should be trying to protect the people!!!! The republicans have been trying to put the govt between women and their doctors for YEARS now. (But I digress, because I am listening to Big Eddie right now, and it just came on, and they are right)

But this BULLSHIT...BULLSHIT...BULLSHIT of supporting industry over citizenry is treason, plain and simple. Of the PEOPLE! By the PEOPLE! For the PEOPLE!

***I'm editing to provide that I am starting to get all pumped up for tomorrow's march, which I don't think will be that big, but I am still goin' anyway. :hi:****

1. Fascists don't like protecting private industry
Edited on Wed Jun-24-09 12:53 PM by Oregone
Labour Charter of 1927

"The corporative State considers private initiative, in the field of production, as the most efficient and useful instrument of the Nation"

"State intervention in economic production may take place only where private initiative is lacking or is insufficient, or when are at stakes the political interest of the State. This intervention may take the form of control, encouragement or direct management"

In fascism, private industry exists to benefit the state, and is valued for that purpose. In corporatism, the state exists to benefit private industry. Two unique and different philosophies, but nonetheless, I think you are confusing them.

4. Uh sure...
You can lie all you want and use Hitler references to rile em up if it works for you I guess, if there is no value in simply being accurate.

7. I think the word lie is a little strong, to say the least...since it's NOT a fucking lie
I can find a definition in the freaking DICTIONARY that calls fascism, "oppressive, dictatorial control".

Split all the mealy mouth definitions you want, I am VERY comfortable with my sign ***AND*** its message. :woohoo:

I guess the dictionary won't suffice for you as a definition though, but whatevs. :eyes:

3. Acutally America has a long history of protecting industry over people.
It has hardly ever done the opposite. Once in while our leaders have done the right thing.

5. It isn't really industry anyway. Real industry was off shored long ago
This "industry" consists of people in office buildings creating ways to separate you from your money as quickly as possible.

Their "Customers" are sick people that don't want to die or be in pain & will do just about anything they can to get well.

Some industry.

6. This debate about being "Fair" to insurance companies makes me feel like I've taken crazy pills!
These are the same people who profit by denying life-saving medical care to their customers.
