Alaska waiting on Sarah Palin's plans
Top Republicans and Democrats across Alaska are quietly lining up to run for governor amid growing speculation that Sarah Palin will not seek reelection in 2010.

No candidate, including Palin, has yet filed papers with the Alaska Public Offices Commission. Palin’s office declined an opportunity to explain her thinking on the 2010 race, and the Republican Governors Association said it would not comment on discussions it has had with the governor.

But a number of Democrats and Republicans in Alaska and Washington who spoke to POLITICO believe her silence is a sign she will not pursue a second term as governor so that she can play a larger role on the national political stage.

At least three Democrats and six Republicans are mulling over runs as they wait on the governor to make her decision.

“There is nothing that she has done that leads me to believe she will seek reelection,” said Andrew Halcro, a former Republican state legislator who ran for governor as an independent candidate in 2006 and is weighing another run. “If you’re Palin, once you’ve flown first class, you don’t go back to coach. She’s been to the show and certainly seemed to like it there.”

1. As someone at the ADN website posted...
...she's waiting for her handlers to tell her what to do. My personal hope is that she gets as far away from Alaska as she possibly can and that we never have to see her winky face or hear her squeakly little voice again. I'm so done with her.

I saw some speculation at Mudflats that she might become RNC chair? Now, THAT would be entertainment.

3. She had no business being in first class.
When I think about how she might have been the VP of this country it makes me so angry. John McCain, who dares to hold up his patriotism as a virtue for all to follow, put this country in jeopardy by choosing this lame brain as his running mate. This no-nothing was an embarassment that never should have been picked for national politics and placed in a position of possibly being POTUS someday. The fact that it took an interview with Katie Couric to peel back and expose the dim nature of the Governor is a disgrace. Even at her most pathetically stupid and ignorant, the press treated the whole episode as something not to be discussed in polite company. Just like the eight years of incompetence under the Chimp administration, the media let the charade continue at great danger to the country. Like it was perfectly normal for a VP candidate not to face the press and answer questions. Yeah, right.
She doesn't belong in coach either. She needs to find a job at her skill level - like pageant judge - and stay out of issues that require intelligence, knowledge and finesse.

5. McCain selecting Palin as his VP nominee demonstrated his poor ability to make good decisions.
As for the position that best fits Palin's skill level... an assistant to a witch doctor.

6. Which would be the best option for us? So hard to choose.
If she runs for Governor again she risks losing the election and not recognized as a viable candidate.

If she runs for Governor again and wins the election what will be revealed that will derail any possible run in 2012? Or what could she possibly do as an Alaska Governor that would give her more positive national exposure and respect?

If she doesn't run for Governor how does that help her resume in a Presidential election? What can she do out of the spotlight that will put her in the spotlight?

She doesn't have any options that I can see. Maybe if she traveled the lower 48 states by snowmobile and visit people?

7. I think
She'll just campaign for other republicans in 2010 for the mid term election, and when that's done, announce her own bid for president.

Your first two statements will be the main reason why she won't run again in alaska.
