Obama seemed a little punchier than usual today--didn't you think?
Edited on Tue Jun-23-09 12:33 PM by Bicoastal
Not that he ever lost his cool or made any serious errors. And some of the questions today WERE rather leading and/or dumb.

Still, at times he seemed genuinely, for lack of a better word, ticked. Not that I blame him--I mean, who cares what John "Bomb Bomb Iran" McCain thinks about international relations?

EDIT: Sorry about my multiple posts. Note to self--don't clean off the bottom of your mouse while you're in the middle of posting something.

Our sister company writes those ads!
I didn't know it until recently... too funny! Happy to be a degree of separation from this creative genius of an ad campaign.

Ordering at the drive thru? Priceless!

I grew up in The Stoned Age... I'm pretty sure I'm a target for the current demographically steered ads:)

4. I enjoy his terse comments when asked stupid questions...
It's a verbal face-palm moment for me. One of these days, when asked a very stupid question for what must seem the bajillionth time, I hope he actually does the face-palm:)

He said what I've been saying for some time: if private insurers offer such a good deal for consumers, why are they so afraid of a public option?

18. I think he expects reporters to be better than what they are...
to be genuinely concerned about educating the public, not trying to find contradictions or get the big story. If they focused on really trying to dig into the real issues rather than playing "gotcha" when it comes to serious issues, then I think he wouldn't have been that way today. But honestly, the reporters missed opportuntities to ask intelligent questions and spent their time asking stupid ones.

that is exactly it. And the press vexes him sometimes with stupid faux scandal-inducting questions. He expects more from them and they let him down every time.

34. Very true. He gets better questions from
'real people' when he does the town halls. Those people are interested in getting real information, asking honest questions about the issues that matter to them. They have no ulterior motive.

In contrast, (most of) the WH press want to 'make news', raise their ratings and create controversy. They want clips of their question being played on TV that night. They want to do the 'gotcha'. They aren't interested in getting information to us, it's all about them.

33. What sane person wouldn't be beyond tired of all the MSM b.s., not to mention
the steady hate from the Right and the discontent from the Left.

He probably has a fantasy where he drops the keys to the W.H. in Joe's hands and drives off with Michelle, the girls and Bo. "SEE-Ya!"

who should be sitting in a rocking chair.

When a man was crazy enough in his youth to get back in the pilot seat, after crashing not one planes, but four, the last thing Obama needs is his advice on the tinder-box of geopolitics. Or domestic, for that matter. Mind you, he actually MIGHT have been great company to have a beer with. And for the very same reason that he's never going to be viewed as a sage outside of that bar-room.
