John McCain was on Face the Nation
I'd have enjoyed it much more had they simply broadcast the CBS test
pattern. At least there would have been more intellectual content.

1. All Republicans all the time across the MSM
It just reinforces what side they are reallly on. The Democrats that DO get on the shows are almost always DLC types. Helpful in a way, since it proves a "liberal bias" in the sense that they are biased AGAINST liberals.

2. I give up with all those shows. The GOPers say anything and get away with it.

16. That's because corporatemedia is and has
been for a long time..gop Central. Trying to keep the People down and the corporatewhores UP.

I cancelled my cable news in 2002 when I saw what was going on..only after having been in politics 2 years and only having a tv for 2 years.

The good news is ..more and more people are catching on and then there's the internet which the "media" & gop filled lies passed around that Al Gore said he invented.

3. Why bother watching...
Their dwindling audience tells you that a dwindling number of viewers aare turning to these so-called "news" shows for information.

I don't think they have anyone on their radar but the same people over and over again.

6. And I would think that half their audience hates them now
It's like watching a train wreck in very slow motion. These pundits are really living in another reality. And they're getting all their talking points from each other, because we're not anywhere in the mix with them. We're just some amorphous shapeless thing out there they call the American People.

9. I've forgotten why Bob Bennet rates any airtime at all.
Was he a mouthpiece for some other miscreant, or something??

10. I watched those shows for 40 years, every Sunday morning. Haven't since 2004.
I did a bit during the election if someone good was going to be on but they are dreadful now. I think that blog post from Krugman sums it up: the media thinks the only serious thinkers are the neocons (and by that I don't me all republicans) and that democrats are just not serious and our ideas are kooky.

That's what, IMHO, Reagan gave us. Painting liberals as kooky, disrespecting education and science, playing up to the religious right (and not giving them what they want because even Reagan and W were not crazy enough to make abortion illegal AND they have to keep the "debate" going to keep the religious wack jobs fired up to fill their coffers.

11. McCain criticized Obama repeatedly but when Schieffer asked him
what he wanted Obama to do, he couldn't answer. He said basically that it's best to do nothing. Schieffer asked McCain several times what he wanted Obama to do. McCain had no fucking clue. He came across as a bellicose grumpy old man who just wanted to complain but had no solutions. Wow. What a surprise.
