Her death will not be in vein--as she is the new Voice of Iran.

Random Neda Tweets (Click Here to read all neda related tweets)

Who are you, Neda ?

Neda, the girl murdered by Basij today, and now the voice of the new revolution.

Neda's life was ended so that Iran's children might live free.

May she rest in peace, the rest of us can´t. Let´s make sure she didn´t die in vain.

Neda (voice). Those beautiful eys..Nedaye Iran.. The new voice of Freedom...

Neda's life today was not lost in vain. Non-violent movement of Iran will b victorious.

In land where women lost their voice, appropriate that woman named Neda --Voice-- should become symbol that topples regime.

The world looked a girl in the eyes as she died tonight. Remember Neda.

Her name was ندا #Neda. It means voice or call in Farsi. She is the voice of the pple, a call to freedom.

1. Do not watch the videos if you do not want to be impacted, the diclaimer is accurate.
The video is extremely sad.

2. but do watch the video if you want a human face on the innocents crushed under the boot
of tyranny. Yes, it is the story of so many centuries. But here you are. Once you have the uncomfortable knowledge in your heart...what will you do to end this oppression and show support for these people?

7. Unfortunately, it often takes something like this to stop the violence....
Edited on Sun Jun-21-09 06:41 AM by Clio the Leo
... for some reason I think of that famous photo of the Vietnamese man being shot in the head. And of course we were talking this week about the images of the shool children being attacked by dogs and sprayed with fire hoses from the American Civil Rights movement.

It's terrible that anyone has died, but perhaps this will bring about something positive.

Ultimately, we are ALL named Neda!

8. Watching the two videos of the young woman is so incredibly sad.
Her poor father. I guess the only question is why? Why kill some one so young and innocent? There are no answers except to say that I express my support for the Iranian people and their fight for freedom and fairness.

9. The video.
The video was more terrifyingly sad than any I've ever seen.

Ever.

It is like you are there with her, she's fallen and in trauma, but there are no outward signs of a fatal wound.

Her eyes are fixed on you as you circle around to get closer.

Her eyes say, "what has happened? please help me".

You feel as though she might be alright, you can help her, sooth her until medical help arrives.

And then, with the sudden flow of blood from her mouth...

...I cannot watch beyond that point.

I'm crying now just thinking about her.

Please, Iran, don't give up, don't give in.

11. I watched with my eyes half closed, but I watched

It was horrific.

I still feel sick.

I think it is important for people to see to truly understand. Yes, it is emotionally wrenching.

People NEED to be emotionally wrenched to action.

So, so, so, so, so, sad.

12. Watching TV....Roger Waters
I've been watching
In Tiananmen Square
Lost my baby there
My yellow rose
In her bloodstained clothes
She was a short order pastry chef
In a Dim Sum dive on the Yangtze tideway
She had shiny hair
She was the daughter of an engineer
Won't you shed a tear
For my yellow rose
My yellow rose
In her bloodstained clothes
She had perfect breasts
She had high hopes
She had almond eyes
She had yellow thighs
She was a student of philosophy
Won't you grieve with me
For my yellow rose
Shed a tear
For her bloodstained clothes
She had shiny hair
She had perfect breasts
She had high hopes
She had almond eyes
She had yellow thighs
She was the daughter of an engineer
So get out your pistols
Get out your stones
Get out your knives
Cut them to the bone
They are the lackeys of the grocer's machine
They built the dark satanic mills
That manufacture hell on earth
They bought the front row seats on Calvary
They are irrelevant to me
But I grieve for my sister
People of China
Do not forget do not forget
The children who died for you
Long live the Republic
Did we do anything after this
I've a feeling we did
We were watching TV
Watching TV
We were watching TV
Watching TV
She wore a white bandanna that said
Freedom now
She thought the Great Wall of China
Would come tumbling down
She was a student
Her father was an engineer
Won't you shed a tear
For my yellow rose
My yellow rose
In her bloodstained clothes
Her grandpa fought old Chiang Kai-shek
That no-good low-down dirty rat
Who used to order his troops
To fire on the women and children
Imagine that imagine that
And in the spring of '48
Mao Tse-tung got quite irate
And he kicked that old dictator Chiang
Out of the state of China
Chiang Kai-shek came down in Formosa
And they armed the island of Quemoy
And the shells were flying across the China Sea
And they turned Formosa into a shoe factory
Called Taiwan
And she is different from Cro-Magnon man
She's different from Anne Boleyn
She is different from the Rosenbergs
And from the unknown Jew
She is different from the unknown Nicaraguan
Half superstar half victim
She's a victor star conceptually new
And she is different from the Dodo
And from the Kankanbono
She is different from the Aztec
And from the Cherokee
She's everybody's sister
She's symbolic of our failure
She's the one in fifty million
Who can help us to be free
Because she died on TV
And I grieve for my sister
