PHOTO Hawk flies through White House
Edited on Fri Jun-19-09 03:51 PM by Jackeens

Professional skateboarder Tony Hawk did his thing at the White House as part of a Father's Day celebration.

Hawk took a brief ride Friday in the White House's grand foyer and the nearby Old Executive Office Building. He had the permission of White House officials, and he posted photos and Twitter accounts on his Web site.

Hawk later joined other dads, athletes and celebrities at a Father's Day forum hosted by President Barack Obama.

The second hawk at the White House in four days:

A hawk flies on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, DC, on June 15, 2009 before US President Barack Obama took off in Marine One helicopter en route to Andrews Air Force base.

3. I'm partial to the second hawk - beautiful picture!
I actually saw one of those two days ago in my yard. There was a BIG rustling in the tree, and squawking from the finches, and a hawk (smaller than the one pictured) flew up to the telephone line.

Two years ago, I saw the same type of hawk around the neighborhood for a couple days, and he landed on a branch of a tree near my window. I got a birds eye view of a hawk - it was quite extraordinary!

10. Tony Hawk gets to skate like that because he has good healthcare (he's rich)
Most normal folk are too scared to touch a skateboard, as well as too poor to be invited to the white house
