Lincoln's own fly encounter

President Obama's fly swatting wasn't the only documented presidential run-in with a pesky insect.

POTUS's idol, Abraham Lincoln sat for a photo in a Washington portrait studio in 1863 - with a house fly on his trouser leg.

It remains unknown whether Lincoln then exhibited the same cat-like swiping ability that Obama flashed during his now-infamous Tuesday taping with CNBC.

The image was provided to AP by Chicago’s Abraham Lincoln Book Shop Inc.
