Gotta Love DEAN! (was on TODAY, today)
Edited on Thu Jun-18-09 07:16 AM by quantass

Just saw him on TODAY and once again the guy speaks very well and says things directly and in a way that everyone can understand.

What i find funny is that he is the ONLY democrat, besides Obama, that i see out there supporting the democratic side of things.

Where are the rest of the f'ing democrats...they should be everywhere on tv to support what i feel is the most important issue for America...Healthcare...no more games demcrats...i know most of you are wusses but geez grow some balls and get out there...Obama and Dean cant do it by themselves.

It's very frustrating especialyl when you see reupblicans on at least once an hour to put down the public option! Sure the single-payer choice is better but lets be honest America as a whole is not brave enough to take such a leap...recall that liberals only make up 21% of America while conservatives make up 46%.

If healthcare reform does not pass democrats can look to themselves to blame for not making the people understand that all they are getting is "Choice". It's funny because when i hear the republicans every hour i get a sense of fear that its bad to have this choice when in fact when you hear the FACTS you start to realize that the republicans are LYING to me and only doing so to continue to line their pockets from the medical insurance industry....*shutter*

Sorry for the rant which has obviously been discussed here ad nausea but it just frustrates me to no end that America is losing something very important.

As a Canadian i shouldnt give a rats ass since i live in a country that actually cares about its people but it just feels sooo wrong to watch so many people unnecessarily suffer while a small group makes gazillions off it....very wrong!

4. If only
I wish there were more people in public life that had what Dr. Dean has:

Courage
articulateness
knowledge
forceful
clarity
cogent

Dr. Dean is fighting harder for us average people than our elected representatives!

So the main way for us to get our elected representatives to represent us instead of lobbyists is to have all public financing for elections?

It is so ironic that the big money influences cause us to vote in favor of people that work against the interests of almost all of us? Boy, that is a really perverse system!

Here's my take.

% of GNP spent in the USA on healthy care is about 12.5%
The same figure for the "socialized medicine" European countries is about 6%/

My simplistic take is that us Americans spend that EXTRA 6% of GNP on health care for the sole purpose of making all the fat cats in private health care insurance and hospitals even more obscenely wealthy?

that 40 million Americans can be without any form of health insurance is kind of like denial of their Constitutional right of Life Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness. Kind of hard to be happy when you can't afford good health care and become homeless due to health issues?

Americans are the most volunteering people on earth. That motivation comes from a basic desire to make the world a better place. Why is this essential part of being a modern human being COMPLETELY ABSENT in our elected representatives?

5. I loved him in his interview with Rachel the other night....
.... or was it Keith?

Anyway, expressed how he was upset with the President re: DOMA but used no hyperbole and presented the facts as clearly as possible. We could all follow his lead, myself included.
