a baby killer.

They called what happened to Tiller "Domestic Terrorists". They showed websites praising the murder of Tiller.
They cited the DHS report warning us about this and how the righties went crazy when that report came out.
They interviewed 2 doctors that are now providing late term abortions, and how they can't even travel in the same car as their families.
They had a clip of a woman that was an activist in the 'anti-choice' movement who ended up having a late term abortion because an ultrasound showed that her baby had enchepilitis and would've died as soon as it was born.

And one of the abortion doctors they interviewed said that all of the women out there who take abortion for granted need to make sure that our daughters will have the same rights as we had.

:applause: :applause: :applause:

Here's a little bit from their website for those of you that missed it:

AND THERE'S A POLL AT THAT LINK - PLEASE VOTE.
thx!

edit to add that there is also a slideshow of screen shots of domestic terrorist websites.

1. There's something really wrong with what we're doing if
FBI missed two separate opportunities to arrest someone whose name, plates and address they had before he kills Dr. Tiller. We can't just blame the FBI, imho. We have to do something different and now.

9. The FBI "missed" those opportunities deliberately, maybe?
I just think that in this country, TERRORISM isn't considered terrorism when it's committed by a White Christian as opposed to a dark-skinned Muslim. Double-standard.

the one who had all the information that FBI ignored, not have another way to up the ante for them? No support list he could ring up to get the story out? We got the FBI and the WaHo to withdraw one of their BS stories about Bruce Ivins. It can be done.

There has to be something more we could be doing instead of allowing these care providers to be isolated with domestic terrorists.

3. Probably anencephaly, meaning "without brain," & yes, it is fatal...
I think so many of the "foot soldiers" of the anti-choice movement are simply operating out of ignorance and lack of imagination: they don't know that such things can happen, and they cannot imagine it happening to themselves. They think every baby born is going to be a happy Gerber Baby, and any flaws will just be "challenges" they can live with.

I had a fundraising call from Planned Parenthood tonight about a matching grant they got: although I have a policy to never pledge over the phone, I found myself saying Yes to this one, I'll be glad to send you a hundred bucks in memory of Dr. Tiller.

5. These are tragic pictures but that is sadly how nature works
sometimes.

Even if you show the right wing nuts these pictures they will claim that they are doctored etc. or worse yet they will think they are aborted fetuses.

These right wing nuts are of the same mindset as those early in this countries history that burned witches andviewed deformaties as the hand of the devil. This type of behavior still occurs in Africa and around the world.

How do you educate those that shun education?

8. In the '50s my mom had a copy of "Human Embryology" when I was a kid. I tell you, the pages about...
... what my mom referred to as "Mother Nature's mistakes" were a source of endless fascination to all of us kids at an age when we didn't grasp the tragedy of it, but it was more like going to a circus sideshow. The multitude of black and white photos were pretty unforgettable, even if none of us could decipher the dense medical text. As a consequence, I have a fairly good idea of some of the things that can go wrong. You are absolutely right: shit happens.

anencephalic baby and her Ob/Gyn sent her to him for an abortion. It was a horrendous journey for her. She was accompanied by her mother and as they tried to enter, the anti-abortion groups screamed at her, pulled at her clothes and called her horrible names. It was devastating for her to have to let go of a baby she wanted so dearly and then to have insults from these ignorant people who had no concept of why she was there.

One of my instructors took our med class to an institution for children whose parents couldn't care for them because of severe abnormalities. There was actually an anencepalic man whose skull was intact and had lived. He had no consciousness of reality and kept trying to eat his sheets. Also, there were babies without facial features. One baby had one eye in front of it's head and the other one on the side. There was no nose just open holes and no lips. There were so many different abnormalities among these children and adults, it broke your heart.

There was this little boy tied to a bench who had no hearing or sight. I wanted to hold him so badly that I untied him and held him in my arms talking to him gently. When it was time to move on I had to tie him back up and he just cried. I wish I had never touched him because he felt love and then it left. This was a horrible place. So many of these neglected malformed children were like throw aways. They never know love and yet had to live out an unbearable life.

12. I did some volunteer work at an institution for special adults - I'll never forget this one woman.
She was just a blob. They pushed her around on a medical cart.
BUT - she was of normal intelligence. Can you imagine.

That is soooo heartbreaking about that little boy.

And that's what makes me ill about these people. They want people to have babies, but don't want to pay taxes so these children can get the medical care - and the love - that they need AFTER they leave their mother's womb.

13. As nightmarish as that is, I also fear for families who have the entire care thrown on them....
... because institutions may not be affordable or even available, not to mention the guilt that's heaped on parents because Gawd never gives you more than you can carry. Abortion is far, far more humane.

10. Voted. Thanks. This report should be on ALL lame$tream media. I love PBS but there's no reason
Edited on Sat Jun-13-09 02:02 AM by Triana
this same report could not have and should not have been reported by the rest of the media - well - except that the GOP hate-wing owns and controls the rest of the media and they're by and large part of the terrorist problem. Other than THAT ;) - it shoulda and coulda been reported on all outlets just as PBS did it.

17. I'm so surprised that
some in the media are investigating to this depth now! It just seems like o'reilly and the hate squad have gone on forever..so long that Dr Tiller and Stephen T Johns are the tragic consequences as of late.
