"Newt wonders if he has a message to unify the country."
Let's all help him out here friends ......... NO!

Former House Speaker says on CBS' "Face the Nation" he'd take a lot of factors into consideration when thinking about running for president.

Says he'd be concerned what his family thinks, whether a run would be practical and realistic, and whether he has a message to unify the country.

1. He could unify the Country by saying:
"I'm outta here, you've been great, tip the waitress, so long folks"

We would all cheer.

2. Don't care what Newt says
it's not gonna "unify" me. The man is slime. Remember his "what's wrong with orphanages?" comments? Among others...

4. Newt has been irritating the hell out of me since the mid 1990's
Edited on Sun Jun-07-09 06:44 PM by Jennicut
Way back in my college days (those were the days). I hated the old Newtster then and I detest him even more now. However, he would be a great candidate to run against. Just look at his past personal history, insane statements, and babyish behavior during the standoff over the budget with Prez Clinton.

6. When I was in 5th grade
I remember having a conversation with classmates about how much Newt sucked. We weren't very political yet, but even as 5th graders we knew that he sucked.

7. No. Furthermore,
...as the blogger Atrios writes, people disagree.

We shouldn't idealize a Unity in which people pretend they all agree, or toss out their own judgements and go along with the supposedly better wisdom of a leader.

12. His message?
I was one of a few that was responsible for screwing up the economy.

I kept my mouth shut when Bush was screwing it up.

Would you rather have someone like me that you know will make a mockery of the American people or someone else?

Would you rather have someone that is a responsible person in government or someone like me that looks to greener grass when it comes to marriage?

15. Unify the country?
Since when is being a partisan bomb-thrower considered an effort to unify the country? He should be able to answer the question of unification by simply watching some of his interviews lately.

21. Small consolation, but
my dad's girlfriend told him off in a bar in Jonesboro back in the late 80's. He was in there glad-handing for support.

22. Which family is he concerned about?
The one he abandoned when his wife was near death with cancer, or the one he cheated on with a staffer when he was impeaching Bill Clinton?
