Prosecutions and Single Payer and Equal Rights and Economic Reform and the Environment?
Can we have our cake and eat it, too? None of us knows. But, it seems that expectations are too high. What are your priorities?

For me, the environment and single payer are tied, then equal rights then... I don't know? I just can't decide (stomping foot several times)! Maybe equal rights is first; is it better to have gay marriage while people continue to go bust for medical care? Wait--what about my friends who are now out of work because of the economy? What about my children, who will have to deal with the environmental disaster that I, in ignorance, helped create? I have a friend who tortured Iraqi while not revealing that she's a lesbian, is without a job so has no health care, and lives on a toxic dump. Maybe I should ask her? (just kidding)

Please, I'm not looking for a debate on what should be Obama's priorities--PLEASE. But I do wonder, does he have a plan? Has he figured out a sequence in which he can slowly piss off members of Congress to the point where he can't push anything more through? Has he decided the best way to get done as much as possible? To what extent will he look to State's rights? For what will he wait so that it looks as if we dragged him, kicking and screaming, to do the right thing, thus squandering less goodwill?

Does he have a plan? I think so. Can we wait for our marshmallow?

Sorry I didn't include any profanity. I think DU has enough.

1. There is a lot on his plate. I guarantee he has a plan.
Everyone has capacity issues that force them to prioritize. Yes, even Barack Obama can't do everything at once, let alone have Congress do it.

6. I don't think it's for advocates to prioritize.
They push for their issue to be at the top of the agenda. It's up to the president to make those decisions.

As for the president's armchair critics, it's easy to sit here in front of the computer and say that we should have all of these items done immediately.

3. The extra four years of GWB really set us back...
There's plenty to do just un-do all the mess.

He's getting it a great deal done, we picked the right one.

5. He inherited a clusterf*ck to sort out. He deserves some time.
He ran a brilliant disciplined campaign. I'm reasonably certain he has a plan for the country as well. I feel a sense of urgency about issues that are important to me. I'm fully into nudging the guy, but hysterical calling for torches and pitchforks not so much. He's got a lot on his plate.
